"if you dont have medical records of your migranes then you're in trouble. better start goin to the doctor and getting yourself a paper trail!"

That is the major issue. They want records from the last 3 years that document my condition. I fiercly avoid doctors, because their methods are typically to give me some medication that doesn't help and often makes me sicker.

So I guess thats what Im asking. Do I need a recommendation from my doctor (my primary provider) to get the recommendation from THCF? Or can I just bring my medical records to THCF without a doctror's recommendation?

The way that THCF put it, it sounded like I need a doctor's (M.D. or D.O.) recommendation for MMJ. ?

Sorry, maybe I am not understanding something.

Does THCF take insurance, or just cash?

THCF is really the only place you can go.
sorry to burst your bubble.
otherwise you better just start making appointments. but i guarantee most mainstream doctors who arent outspoken about the benefits of MMJ arent going to help you. their gunna give you pharmaceuticals.

Im not sure what you're asking, but if you havent already then go to THCF and get your license and then just tell your doctor you're a medical marijuana user. thats what i did. its just like telling them that you smoke cigarettes (when they ask you). they cant do anything its confidential. and if MMJ helps your migranes then why do you need a primary care provider anyways??

I mean you wouldnt need them for anything if the MMJ helps your pain!

Oh and the license is $200. make sure you bring cash! ;)

no insurance for THCF. its $200 for your license at the door when you get to your appointment.

we only had to provide 3-5 documents from within the last 3 years that showed my condition. they just want the medical record that your DR writes in when you go in. they dont want 3 years of medical records. they even state it on their webpage. just follow the directions.

you dont need a recommendation. the doctor there is the doctor that will recommend it.

Step 1
If you are a NEW PATIENT, in order to schedule an appointment (FIRST YOU MUST HAVE:)

* CHART NOTES (The notes your doctor keeps in your medical file.) The records need to be current within the past three years & must pertain to your qualifying condition. We only need chart notes from 2-3 recent visits on your condition. These can be UP TO three years old. For example, if you saw the doctor in September of 2006, those records could be used until September of 2009. Please do not send older documents unless requested.

* These notes must be from an MD (medical doctor) or a DO (doctor of osteopathy). Oregon patients may be able to use records from a NP (nurse practioner) or a PA (physician's assistant). In other states, our doctors cannot use records from a NP or PA.

* Any recent MRI or x-ray REPORTS (not required, but desirable if applicable). Please don't send the film, just the report.

Step 2

You can have your doctor's office fax or mail these records to us directly, or send them in yourself. In either case, we need:

* The documents

* YOUR telephone number

Please BE SURE to clarify with the doctor's office that you only need 2-3 visits of chart notes pertaining to your qualifying condition, NOT your entire medical record. We love trees and don't want to kill any more than necessary. Also ask your doctor's office to include your phone # with the fax.

If you wish to see the doctor in OREGON, send records to:

Dr. Marath, Dr. Dodge, Dr. Orvald - fax # 503.235.0120 - or mail to 105 SE 18th Ave., Portland OR 97214

If you wish to see the doctor in HAWAII or Spokane WA send records to:

read the fucking info. send your chart sheets from your doctor in... and then they'll call you to let you know if you qualify or not. its not that hard, but we cant sit here and hold your hand for you!! you have to take the obligation to look into whether you'll qualify. only the doctor can tell you that and none of us are doctors.

we arent fucking psychic here. we cant just say yes when you dont say what you have.

and you dont call to set up an appointment with the doctor which obviously implys that you did not even read the information that i posted to try and help people (which you didnt do the first time you posted ANYWAYS).

again you are trying to get someone to hold your hand.

read the directions. theres no appointment making involved until youre approved. so follow the fucking directions or smoke weed illegally cause i could care less.

(and yes i am a bitch when people are morons and dont read the entire thread before asking questions that are ALREADY answered IN THE THREAD for them)

Washingtons list of acceptable diseases for which marijuana can be prescribed is much stricter than Californias.

Here is some information from the NORML website. I found it in about 15 seconds using this awesome new research tool called GOOGLE.

Washington

SUMMARY: Fifty-nine percent of voters approved Measure 692 on November 3, 1998. The law took effect on that day. It removes state-level criminal penalties on the use, possession and cultivation of marijuana by patients who possess "valid documentation" from their physician affirming that he or she suffers from a debilitating condition and that the "potential benefits of the medical use of marijuana would likely outweigh the health risks." Patients diagnosed with the following illnesses are afforded legal protection under this act: cachexia; cancer; HIV or AIDS; epilepsy; glaucoma; intractable pain (defined as pain unrelieved by standard treatment or medications); and multiple sclerosis. Other conditions are subject to approval by the Washington Board of Health. Patients (or their primary caregivers) may legally possess or cultivate no more than a 60-day supply of marijuana. The law does not establish a state-run patient registry.
AMENDMENTS:Yes.
Senate Bill 6032, which takes effect on July 22, 2007, mandates the Department of Health to "adopt rules defining the quantity of marijuana that could reasonably be presumed to be a sixty-day supply for qualifying patients." The Department is instructed to report its findings to the legislature by July 1, 2008.

Patients who possess larger quantities of cannabis than those approved by the Department will continue to receive legal protection under the law if they present evidence indicating that they require such amounts to adequately treat their qualifying medical condition.

Senate Bill 6032 also affirms changes previously recommended by the state's Medical Quality Assurance Commission to expand the state's list of qualifying conditions to include Crohn's disease, hepatitis c, and any "diseases, including anorexia, which results in nausea, vomiting, wasting, appetite loss, cramping, seizures, muscle spasms, and/or spasticity, when these symptoms are unrelieved by standard treatments or medications."

UPDATE:

I am still working on getting all of my damned appointments in.

Like I suspected, they want to try me on midrine, and Im not going for it.

I want to say "That shit doesn't work, herb is what does the trick"..

But I don't want to lose any progress that I have made thus far.

If I would have arrived in Seattle a few years ago, I have 10 years of medical records that could be used, but since I haven't been to the doctor in a long ass time, they want new records.

This is so frustrating!!!

Since I started working graveyard shift a few weeks ago, my head is all fucked up. I get migraines twice a week now, where Im practically on the floor bawling.

Yeah, I know Im weak.. Fuck, it's never hurt like this!!

Anyway, I went out for a stroll today to see if I could find someone that would be willing to get me stoned, but no luck. I walked up and down Univerity Ave. for like 3 hours trying to see if I could spot someone that I knew, or somone that looked cool enough to smoke a brother out.

No dice!

DAMNIT THESE FUCKING DRUG LAWS are so gay!!!!!!!

If any of you are into praying. I could use a couple of prayers. Thanks!
