SO, it is possible to only let your plants veg for a couple weeks and throw them into flower?

What are the requirements to do so, when is the best time. Some one else told me I must wait for alternating nodes and I do recall reading that somewhere else too.

Would I benefit any from putting her into 12/12 earlier rather than later.

I will do some more reading on your thread to see what is what, just kind of overwhelmed right now, been reading so much lately I have a migraine. Thanks again everyone!

okay got it, not hard to comprehend at all. Plus I am sure that what you are saying is true, since there is so little to find on the web about single bulb 42w or similar, except for you shouldn't do it and add more lights lol.

But I am here to provide a log on my grow and how it goes, no matter how much the yield is.

I will strive for more rather than less though.

Plus I have been reading that it is very possible to grow a small plant with 3,000 lumens, and I believe I am right at 3000 maybe a tad bit more.

So we will see how it goes my friend.

yeah basically, but the dude that told me about it said it doesn't have to be an auto flower, he said you can use w.e strain

I figured it had to be an autoflower though, if I'm wrong someone please correct me and I will be glad to give it a shot. Maybe something just to leave on my window sill for a couple months

You can start flowering at anytime by putting the plant on a 12/12 light schedule. The earlier you do it, the smaller your plant will be in the end. 18/6 is the fastest way to increase your plant size and the bigger the plant the bigger the yield.

If you have height restrictions or time restrictions, you can flip her after 2-3 weeks. A smaller plant is easier to manage as well.

Finishing in a solo cup is not ideal.

People just like a challenge, so some decide to see how much they can yield from a solo cup.

Truthfully, as of right now I am not so much concerned about yield either. I am honestly more concerned about surviving all the way through harvest on minimal lighting and getting my first batch of homegrown!

Please tell me what you think my best choices are if I were not to add any lights just the two I have now for one plant. Height is an issue. I will lst and I will probably let it go two weeks through veg.

Also I germinated another unknown seed that I got with my order in the indica/sativa mix. I will be planting this one in a large mcdonalds cup and just letting it sit in my window. Gonna try something similar to the dixie cup grow lol. Hope it survives, and hope its a female.

I will keep everyone updated on this one also.

I will do a 50/50 miracle grow moisture control potting mix and a fox farms organic starter mix.

If I were you I would spend 10 bucks more on the grow to get more bulbs. 5000k at least.

I would veg 2-3weeks and have her transplanted into at least a 2 gallon pot.

After your first two grows I would try to get a set up for bigger plants.

What nutes will you be using?

Thanks yo! I appreciate it, I am on my first grow. So far I am liking what I am seeing, looking very healthy.
Got its second set of leaves coming on looking very good.
Actually pretty bulky looking like its indica dominant but it's probably way to early to tell but she's got some nice fat fan leaves as of right now.
I am doing a blackjack grow, under 13w 2700k and 42w 2700k.
(before you say what your about to.. I know, I know)

As of right now she's looking good. I have decided that I will be vegging for two weeks, and then strait into flower.
I will LST her and possibly super crop.
No nutes since I am using miracle grow.
For flower I will use molasses, a little more than what everyone else does. I think first week I will start her with 1tsp and then in a week or two move up to 2tsp of molasses.
Possibly add another 2700k in that time.
Besides that I mean this is my first grow experiment, I am not really looking so much for yield or data rather than for what I will be doing and how it turns out.
I just want to see what will happen, and if I will make it to harvest.
Got a very small grow box, with very low lighting, but I am going to try and make the best of it for the time being.
More then likely I will get a very small yield but hey, can't wait to try some of my own shit!

WHAT??????.....that you need more light???.... lol.....we all need more light but we can work with what you got for now.If your only gonna veg for 2-3 weeks those 2 lights will be just enough BUT for flowering you need MORE.I grow 12/12 from seed and it usually takes 3-4 weeks before they start to flower,but if I run 20/4 lighting fornthe 3-4 weeks i get bigger,bushier plants.When I run 12/12 lighting the whole way they are one big cola,hardly any side branching.With your height your def gonna have to do some lst,remember if you do any topping,fimming it will slow down growth for a few days.Lemme say the more training you do the longer you should to veg.It's all about getting the most outta what we got

He only needs to drop 10 bucks and he can get eight 26w bulbs.

When you tell him that he can flower after two to three weeks from seed what you mean is that he can use a 12/12 cycle if wanted but it's not going to start flowering until it is sexually mature. Right? In my opinion like you said, unless they have severe height restrictions, it's a way better idea to use 18 to 24 hours of light so tha you get more growth. A plant has to attain sexual maturity before it will flower. Branching is very important for yield as the more growth nodes,you have the more,bud sites.

Granted if you look up Del666 he grows beasts using 12/12 from seed but he has specific strains and a lot of knowledge.

Even with height restrictions I'd advocate LST with a decent veg over starving a plant of much needed light so that it stays tiny.
