And Europe would start buying shit from China, solar panels, EVs and batteries and forget US arms sales to them in the future as their arms industry grows. It would cost hundreds of billions in arms sales alone and they do make equipment essential to make advanced microchips. His Chinese tariffs and their retaliation will screw the Midwest farmers who were stupid enough to vote for him again. He would also kill any green energy moves by America and it will be drill baby drill and fuck climate change treaties (Vlad doesn't like them) as the world moves on into the future and America is consumed in chaos.

Funny, no news of the fires in Russia, checked three news outlets.

On the, "What, us afraid." column.

In Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Russian Guard will conduct a raid on gun owners before the presidential elections
In the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, employees of the Russian Guard will check all gun owners who live near polling stations on the eve of the presidential elections. The head of the department’s Licensing and Permitting Center, Mikhail Klepalov, spoke about this during a press conference, a URA.RU correspondent reports.

“We will carry out checks at the place of residence of gun owners living in close proximity to polling stations. I would like to note to the residents of the district and say that not only police officers, but also military personnel will participate in this work,” said Mikhail Klepalov.

The raid will take place as part of the operational and preventive event “Weapons 2024”. It is aimed at protecting public order and ensuring security before the presidential elections.
Earlier, URA.RU reported that in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug the police and the National Guard are checking the security of polling stations. Security forces in Khanty-Mansiysk will visit 31 objects.

And I was thinking, now we just need a fire in St Petersburg.
Air raid sirens were going off and the sound of drones was reported... A tight focus on oil production and export capacity, hit them in the wallet. They paid the Iranians for the drones in gold.

This is happening all over Europe and long-term preparations are being made by all countries. If Trump were to become president, it would mean military aid to Russia and sanctions on Europe. I'm not responsible for European security, they are, and Trump's election means war in Europe. Someone will evoke article 5 and they will finish off Russia before Trump knows what happened.

If you thought Trump spouted bullshit. I wonder who would accept the roll of Trump's VP, an indicted criminal facing a life sentence, who happens to be freaking out and going nuts at the same time... Tucker perhaps? Maybe Vlad is really vetting him for the roll, so Donald sent him to him for approval. Only someone as bad as Trump would be his VP and would be guaranteed to pardon Trump, if he couldn't pardon himself.

It’s not amusing. What the Russians are doing is tightening the authoritarian screws. The public safety angle is bs. Completely different and more sinister dynamic than here.

If Trump were to somehow weasel into power and turned on them after an "incident"...

It is a lesson in authoritarianism for those who support it in America and like their guns, which is most of them.

The NRA are great supporters of Russia, went there on visits to their gun club ;)

What is the NRA's take on this, they should be outraged and make a public statement, except Vlad has that kompromat on them...

A carefully neutral review of Carlson's interview of Putin from PBS:

Not that I was expecting Putin to tell the truth, just, I don't know, maybe I'm surprised when somebody looks at the camera and speaks a blatant lie that they must know people will see as such. To me, it's an example of what power allows a person to do without feeling any heat from the blowback. Trump did the same in some regrettable interviews on mainstream media last year.

retelling of history
Putin dominated the conversation – which exceeded two hours – with long, discursive asides relying on propagandistic talking points to argue that Russia's right to eastern Ukraine spans centuries. (Ukrainian leaders and many historians dispute his rendering of the history of the region.)
The Russian leader blamed the Ukrainians for the 2022 invasion. Carlson did not question Putin's framing. Nor did he use the word "invasion" to describe the deployment of Russian troops and missiles into Ukraine that kicked off the war.

"We were protecting our people, ourselves, our homeland and our future," Putin told Carlson, according to the interpreter of the exchange.

I didn't and won't watch it. Am curious if anybody did and what their impressions were.

I didn't need to watch it but did watch some reliable criticism of it and the EU is considering sanctioning Tucker over it for supporting a war criminal. Elon might be in the same boat by supplying Russia with starlink inside Ukraine, while denning Ukraine the same for military use, Uncle Sam might be interested too.
