Shoigu orders all PMCs to be placed under Russian Defense Ministry control, Prigozhin immediately refuses

The order, published on the Russian Defense Ministry’s Telegram channel on June 10, reads that it aims to grant the volunteer formations the “necessary legal status and establish standardized approaches to organizing comprehensive support and task execution.”

These “volunteer units” are referred to by Russian authorities as private military companies (PMCs), including the Wagner PMC, although such companys are officially prohibited in Russia.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, founder and leader of the Wagner PMC, immediately and vehemently rejected Shoigu’s directive, asserting that he will not enter into any contracts with the Ministry of Defense.

Forbes article suggesting breaching Russian defenses is costing the Ukrainians much equipment

To be expected, they probably did their job, and it looks like they are through several layers of defense. They control the battlefield and can recover the vehicles, most probably can be repaired or salvaged for parts. Once they break into the Russian rear and drive for their supply hubs and railheads things should get easier, whole sections of the Russian front will be cut off from resupply and could collapse.

I’m waiting to see if the “Day 4xx Map” Youtube guy shows us large salients pushing south and east into the occupied zone. I haven’t heard anything suggesting the Ukrainians have made more than token advances. A complicating factor: Russia seems to have tactical air superiority.

From what I have seen they are holding back their big punch so far, they are overcoming the first line defenses in several locations and probing for weakness while trying to create panic. Loses are expected at this stage as the hard crust is penetrated, I don't expect traditional tactical air power to have a big impact with manpads and other AA defenses. Drones on the other hand can clean out a trench before it is stormed attacking machine guns, equipment and anti-tank weapons. I think the Ukrainians are using large numbers of drones in this attack and we will see how many Ukrainian lives they save.

The Ukrainians may also strike from a new and unexpected direction too, we will see. The Russians appear to be having internal command problems with Wagner, their military apparatus is at the breaking point or soon will be. Right now, it is being stressed to the max after being blead white in futile slaughter for no real gains on an unimportant political objective.
