OK, I have a GDP Purple Dream I want too keep and was wondering what would be the safest way. Ive got like 6 clones off of it and they are from 1 week out to 2 freshly potted. Would you all recommend to just keep taking cuttings as I throw them into 12/12 like I have been or put one of these smaller plants aside as a mother and just take cuttings off of her. This is the first time I've found a pheno worth keeping(its actually better than I always hoped for) and I definitely dont want too lose her. Maybe both to be safe??

If your in Northern California, here's something that will work:
Share this strain with me. And I, In return, will snap cuts for you whenever you need me to:-)
Very serious

Along with what everybody said is that - if a mother plant -it takes special nutrients because of the lenght of time kept in the veg stage, let me know if you want the nutrients.

Thanks everyone, I think I'll just set aside one of these new clones as a Mom and keep taking cuts off of the whole lot(better to be safe than sorry). With the 3 in flower now and three in veg, along with a Mom, if I kill them all it just wasnt meant to be.

i used to keep moms for roughly 6 months, when I only had a couple different strains, before replacing. I have a few more than a couple strains nowadays;-)
I still keep some moms, But for the most part, I snap cuts off of plants that Will be then put in to flower room.

When your thinking about replacing momma, snap extra cuts from it, And wait until the extras have rooted, and have grown a bit, before throwing the old bitch out. Just to be
Safe.

I tried keeping mother/s a few times, always wound up being more hassle than it was worth... And after a few runs of something I'm always wanting to try something new.. Not saying there haven't been a couple I still wish I had (and for whatever reason, the few plants I decide against cloning almost ALWAYS turn out to be something special lol).
