Oi mates!

Here's the deal, I have been smoking for a little while now, i'd say 4 years. I have always been a lightweight since I started at 15 for some odd reason, but fuck it! That just makes my shit last longer. I'm looking to grow a plant now because I have recently started college and money is tight.. So basically I'm looking for tips on indoor growing on a tight budget, and whether or not I can constrict the height that my plant may grow * just to help keep it as compact as possible in my 500 sq ft place *. Any help would be fuckin great!! Thanks!

:joint: = :hump:

for I compact grow you should use Compact florecent lights around the 5000k temp for veg and 2700k for flowering, to keep your plant small you can just start flowing at a young age, just grow the plant in veg to about 60-70% of the total height you want your finished plant to be.
also, check out this video. it explans some basics.

This is gonna sound dumb, but where can i find those kinds of lights? I'm seriously a noob to growing. Just looking to start something basic and affordable. basically you may need to dumb it down a bit for me hahaha.. I'm a smart guy i swear.. i just don't know jack shit about growing plants haha

you will be able to find anything you need at your local hardware store.

pot
soil (use 2 parts miricle grow organic potting mix and 1 part perlite)
as many lights within buget (26w or 40w CFLs [cool white for veg] [warm for flowering])
timer for the lights
Ph test and correction kit (or just use bottled water)

as far as nutrients go,for the veg stage look for something that is high in nitrogen. I use mexican bat guano, its 10-2-1. but be sure to not do overkill with the nutes unless you want mutant plants.

besides that, just watch that video and all the ones that go with it, there are actually a few good grow videos on youtube. and just keep readin here, you will learn alot.

Im quite sure it's along the lines of Indica, I personally saw the plant, but didn't think to ask besides whether or not it was good for indoors.

well if it's an indica then you are probebly strait, just asking cause sativas want to grow taller and you might have trouble growing in a confined space.

pure indicas are best if u want a low plant. Stay clear of sativas as they can more than triple in height when flowering.

Oh yea.. I did some reading up on that as well, I went for the Indica because i live in a complex and outdoor groth isnt exactly an option, i'd love to let it all happen naturally but meh.. gotta do what you gotta do! You wouldn't by any chance know anything about the different personal reactions to smoking would ya? Like i said I have been smoking since i was 15 and i'm now goin on 20 and most buds i get are nice but every once in a while i get shit that makes me feel like im dying after 2 hits. I get all sick and shit. I just dont want to waste time growing something i wont like

some dealers will spray their shit with stuff like fermaldihide. or sometimes other chemicals that add smell. I have not had this happen to me but I live in soCal and I ussualy get my weed direct from grower. but I do have friends on the east coast that this has happened to, I guess some people just like to get fucked up lol

I have encountered that fermaldehyde shit *wet* is what ive heard its called. i don't know some of this stuff I run into is just fuckin terrible! I like to smoke on the weekends or after work so i'm not a heavy duty toker. i think it may be that it's just too strong. i have smoked some nice chron that hits just right and i just go walkin around cuz i live downtown but this other stuff feels like a bad trip. maybe just the difference between a head and body high?

well indica is gonna be closser to the stony side, more of a body high. but you should do the grow organicly, you get much better tasking bud in my opinion, and it will probebly less likely to trip you out.

Thats what I am looking for, the body feeling.

So far I have the following items for this mission

Small pot about 6 inches in diameter *for beginning*

2 lamps I can use for the bulbs, they adjust in height

A larger *pot* I rigged out of some milk jugs

Spray bottles

2 small fans, one for air in and one for exhaust

and some clappers for the lights.. cuz i am lazy

I was thinking of using some foil as the reflective surface to maximize light intake cuz i cant afford too many bulbs, is that okay?

I hope your kidding about the clapper for the light thing lol. your light cycle is very important, it tells the plant what season it is and how the plant should grow. I don't know how far they have come on clapper technology, but I remember them as turning on and off sometimes do to loud sounds.

as far as the seeds go, figure that for every 10 seeds you plant 6/10 will germinate, and out of that 6, about 3/10 will be female.

Oi!

You should listen to the Sham69 version of the KIDS are united...instead of that lame casualties version.

Are you planning on growing in a closet or box of some sort? Since you have a tight budget it would recommend SeeMoreBuds book. It can be found here How to grow marijuana - See More Buds - video DVD reviews Hes a member on here and has some great info. Check it out man.
Ditch the foil too, it could cause hot spots on the leaves. Use flat white paint or mylar.

spraying brings on all sorts of bug and mold/fingus problems. just water them normally. milk jugs are great for second planting. that's what mine are now flowering in. they are a little small, but my grow area is only 3'x4'x8' h and I have 19 plants stuffed in there in milk jugs. Use a good high nitrogen fert for bvegging and you'll be fine. don't overwater ( an all too common mistake) keep them close to the lights, a breeze across them, exhaust for stale air, you are good to go.
