Hi all,

Ive been growing in soil for a while now (SOG) and getting good results but im getting more and more tempted to try DWC - im just coming up to a harvest so now would be a good time to get it setup.

Ive got 2 x GL80's (Size (W x D x H): 80cm x 80cm x 160cm (2½ft x 2½ft x 5¼ft).

I want to keep 1 of them for soil and the other for DWC - the only problem is I need to get the right size buckets - im hoping to fit 4 in there but most of the "ready made" DWC systems come with buckets that are too big for my tent.

Lighting inside the tent is 1 x 400w HPS - plenty of ventilation.

Have you guys got any recommendations? Sizes of buckets etc for that size tent?

Don't use any premade systems.. do it yourself. I have a guide stickied in this section, or look at my signature. It will be cheaper and more than likely give you better results.

Hi Void,

Yep, seen your thread and watched almost all of your vids before posting :) What size buckets would you think I could get away with in that tent or the other thing I was thinking of was maybe a 4 pot wilma - the dimensions of that should be ok I think?

Buckets need to be over 2 gals if you plan on 4+ weeks of veg. The rez only needs to be as big as your root system.. which is determined by veg time/strain.. mostly veg time.

thats a pretty small space for 4 plants. My tents a bit bigger than that and I just put 2 5 gallon buckets in there. You could probably get like 3 3gallon buckets or something. Or if you can fit a big rubbermaid container in there

Great- thanks for the replies - thats kinda made my mind up then. Gonna go for a 4 pot wilma until I get a bigger tent :)
