That's a nice lil sifter there, do you rosin press your kief?
Well not usually this is how I do it:
1. Trim goes to Pollen Extractor - which I use for kief and the press to make it solid, it's a very simple screw tight press, nothing special but for personal use it's fine.
I can also press the kief for Rosin but I rather keep it as it is to be honest. Each time it becomes less potent, so ye in theory I can press it 2-3x and it's still ok to smoke but you can tell the difference as in less potent.
2. usually I use only some buds for Rosin first the larf/small buds then I select a few of the bigger ones, using basic but decent "wide" heating hair plates, most are not wide enough so I had to search sizes on amazon

Some people use their squished buds to make munchiez, I CBA , it's still ok but as stated before it losses power but not that much in my book to be passed as a decent smoke.
3. The best buds I keep as they are
But now that I have this new Pollen Extractor, I can even dump in all the crap I cut offf, get poor quality kief mainly organic greenish color but you still make it into solid with the press and then make rosin by using the low quality hash in the hair plates. You don't get much but it's better than nothing and at least I use all of the plant. In theory if you get any basic solid it's possible to get some resin from it through heat and pressure but after it's probably weak to smoke.
The way I use the Pollen extracor is, first trim run 10-15mins for good quality kief- lightish brown color, then I freeze it all up again a few hours, 2nd run for about 20mins, this kief quality is usually average quality and some of this I might use to make Rosin. Darker brown
Freeze up a 3rd time for a few hours and then I let it run for at least 40mins and you get this sort of a more organic greenish fluffy kief which can be used directly in Coffee or Tea etc. This can also be pressed and it's possible to get some resin from it like hash and this is what i want to experiment - in theory even if it's greenish it can be considered low quality hash therefore possible to make Rosin from it
Basically the amount of "GooD" kief to use to make solid to then extract resin to make into Rosin is just too much compared to using buds directly. This is why i prefer to keep good solid BUT if I can use lower quality solid to make Rosin then it's as if I can recycle all the crap and make it into something better, in the end I do it for myself
