what up red1966 thanks for stopping back in man , no worries about the harshness i know how it is on RIU :D haha. sounds like ya had a pretty good run with your 2x600w'ers sucks the quality didnt turn out but a learning experience none the less. wow your running at 3 times your normal electric bill! shit man thats crazy good quality leds might just be the route for you my friend. although im not 100% on the exact leds used in the units i have if you were interested i would suggest checking out the vipar site and even throw buddy over there an email im sure he will be glad to answer any questions for ya. never heard of procyon lights but those plant photonics are wayyyyy over priced kinda outrageous. also to answer your question about flowering i did not notice any difference in time .... again never grown either of these strains but the blueberry said it was a 45-55 day strain and the rockstars were said to be an 8 week strain and if i remember correctly i took them all down about 50 or so days into flower and they were ready to go for sure.

Mine took about 10 days longer than I expected... but I realized later that I had tied the branches down at the beginning of flower to get a better canopy and that can delay flower by a week or two. Not going to be tieing down this time so interested to see if flower times are quicker. In the future I'm going to make sure they're tied down before flower and growth has kicked in on side branches before flipping :)

Same here, but I can keep plants inches away from it with no problems now, which I could never do before without the light bleaching my ladies. But in all fairness I've run that panel in a pretty shitty, (I've hit 120F in my tent during the summer months), so it's been through hell. Vipar's an OK company in my book, but they should really stop being just middlemen and take the opportunity to start designing/making their own stuff too. Guess we'll find out when series C comes out.

I have a friend who says he has 4 of the vipar 500s with 5 watters, 300 actual watts, is that not correct? If so do you know anything about them? He's not using them and I was going to run em if they're worth a shit.

They're on eBay, it's the c 500, 96 5watt at 307 actual watts I believe, he got 4 for just under a grand but doesn't need em for 6 months so I was thinking about running 3 of them in a tent instead of a 1000 but nobody says anything about them. Say they're good for a 4x2 so I was going to run 3 in a 4x4 just for a little extra, dunno yet, want to know if it is wort it or not.

Those are the 2012 models they ran for a year. The 500 is around 300 actual.watts and uses bridgelux and epistar (maybe) made by evergrow lighting. The 2013/14 vipar models are the bx line with modular led clusters. Those are the nova line from evergrow.

how well the older vipar work. I have no idea. People had good results.

are the viper leds from united kingdom the same as the leds from america or australia thanks really nice grow
Reportedly the same company, but not the same lights. In other words, the lights they sell in the UK are superior to the ones they sell on Ebay, in the USA.

You're welcome, sir. Honestly, I've used Vipar LED lights, they're okay, at best. The buds were frosty, and dense, but didn't have much weight to them.
If you can wait it out for like a month, there are going to be some new COB panels coming out, and they'll destroy anything an Ebay LED light can do. If you can't wait the month, and need to buy now, go with Optic Lighting's new COB panels (Vero 29, CXA, and CXB).
