video 2

a couple vids of my top feed system. just transplanted these babies from soil. rinsed out as much dirt as i could and wrapped the root balls in painters plastic sheeting with an opening at the bottom for the roots they took well to the transplant, the smallest 4 plants were a sickly yellow when they were in soil, 3 days later and they are a nice deep green, i think i might need to bump the TDS up, a couple of the bigger girls are showing signs of a N deficiency. i just wanted to wait until the smaller girls were ready for the increase.

the plant that i molest in video 1 is my pride and joy, i just topped her above the 5th node, and she's showing excellent signs of sending out 4 colas.
the plant behind her got fimmed at the 2nd node, has 2 really nice tops coming in and where i fimmed it, it has some funky growth goin on that might result in 1-2 more tops.. more on that at a later date.

thoughts comments and questions are appreciated.

more to come so stay tuned.

latest update. 3/5/10

just installed a sound system and have been playing classical all day.
plants seem to like it. a little perkier than normal. i seriously need to work on light proofing this tub tho. its on the list of chores for tonite, i havent really seen any algae tho, the brown roots are the dead ones that i bumped around too much during the transplant...

stay tuned

yea, i got the idea from "Jorge Cervantes ultimate grow 2"
also did a little research and found this article on ehow.com

i will be installing a yeast+sugar fed co2 system tonite when i get done light proofing the resevoir (see attachments for co2 plans)

i may start flowering as early as sunday, it all depends on how fast new tops develop, i just topped everything, including the undergrowth on the "bush" in the back left

you cant see the co2 system because its behind the cab, but i ended up using 2 2liters instead of milk jugs and i used bits of bread instead of yeast. i'll get some real yeast and more sugar when i get my food stamps. hooray for food stamps.

I've decided its time...

just took 6 clones from my 4 best plants, put 'em in the easy cloner under 2x2ft florescents.. these will be my mothers later.

swapped my veg solution for bloom in the hydro cab and switched the cab light over to 12/12

wish me luck and stay tuned for the results. btw, i should have a new video up in a few hours.
i've been using my girls digicam to make my vids, and she's comin by this afternoon. giggidy giggidy goo

I can't believe you made your own c02 producer, that's impressive. Plus your plants seem to be liking that classical music, lol.

For sure, i'll check in on this thread, which seems to be coming along really well. By the way, what strain are you growing?

just a bunch of bagseed that's stood out from the rest over the last few months, lets cross our fingers that i dont get hermies.

*surfnugget knocks on wood*

but seriously though, i've never really had much trouble getting bagseed to do awesome shit. and i've only had one hermie in the 4-5 grows i've done. not a bad track record... these are hands down the best plants i've ever grown though, and im really excited to see what weighs out in the end.

three of the best plants turned male. i dont see anything on the others yet... female or otherwise... killed my males. should i save the scraps for when i do bubble hash? anyones thoughts on that? i plan to build my own bubble hash setup a short time after harvest using silkscreen and 5gallon buckets.

Im not positive when my girl will remember to bring her cam over so i might just do a webcam video tonite for a temporary update. the buds are now pinky tip size.

sweet! i'm definitely building one of these today. this whole time ive been looking for one of those damn twisty tuby things for wine making and bread making to slowly let out the co2 out of a container but this thing looks like it works great!

looks good, but your roots are lookin a little brown. i would keep and eye on that.
yea, they look even worse right now, but i figured out the problem. i wasnt keeping my backup reservoir full, so when my nute solution evaporated, no new water to replace it, the water levels would drop, my pump was failing and the solution was getting stronger as well. i set the backup reservoir to fill the main tank to a higher level and will keep an eye on it from now on. that thing can drink! i figured i'd only need to add a gallon every week or so, but that puppy took in 2 gallons today. after the backup res took 2 gallons, i filled it with a gallon of plain water and kool bloom and floralicious bloom for 3 gallons. i change out my reservoir every week because i notice a bump up in growth every time i change.

video's on its way... be patient.

just broke off a main cola when i was re-adjusting the scrog.

its all good though, trichs were about 50-50, i gave it a clean cut with a sharp blade and got to trimmin, so heres a sneak peak of what should roll out in the next couple weeks.
