Vibration / Movement Increased Growth Rate

Hello everyone I currently have started 2 girls from seed standing at about 2 inches, now the point of this is that the day before they measured in at 1 3/4 in. They also had a constant fan on them and I decided to take the fans out and over night the growth increased significantly (pics will be uploaded). So does anyone know of any studies or self experience on whether or not constant movement, vibrations, or any outside force acting upon the plantcould result in increased growth once removed.

lol... the plant will always turn to the area with the most light it can absorb...

..."constant movement, vibrations, or any outside force acting upon the plant could" damage the plant at any stage... if you are using a fan, then place it at a distance, not upclose..

Yes and your point is?

As you can see from the pictures above it seems that the small computer fan I had going on them actually increased the growth rate when I shut it off.

From the pics, to me, it looks like normal growth. They grow very very fast at this stage and into veg. It is quite remarkable just how much they can change overnight. I don't think the fan had any bearing on their growth at all.

I have not ever read anything that would suggest no movement would increase growth rates. Having your plants blow a little in the wind will actually serve to stiffen up the stems naturally. Your actually rupturing cell walls and they repair themselves.

...no point really I was staring at the cfl when I was trying to type...

...it started growing more as soon as it stopped being agitated is what I was trying to say... size of the fan wouldn't matter as long as the plant's stem isn't bending... obviously a small fan on a established plant is not going to harm it, but a small fan on a small plant it will...

Which they don't have too if no fan (no cell walls rupturing), in other words more time for growth instead of repair!

Anyway, I agree with you, even if you made an argument for the side you do not agree with :-)

Sorry for my english.

without wind, plants will grow quicker but with weaker support as they feel they dont need the extra muscle in the branches to withstand the wind....your buds will need to be staked later on if you dont have any wind training!

edit: wind also keeps internode spacing nice n tight and branches thick, transferring more nutes per cm of branch!!! (im high as shit trying to talk intelligent)

Not trying to be a dick, but you should make sure you know what you're saying if you're going to try and give advice. This is how bad gardening gets spread around. Wind has nothing to do with node spacing, nothing.

I think almost everyone knows this...hence the fans...besides from circulation of fresh air ofc.
