Vertical lighting height?

I've not had much luck in my search for an answer to this, was hoping some of you guys could chime in on your thoughts and/or point me in the right direction.

Okay, so. Vertical light height - I'm looking for information on how much space a vert bulb can light up vertically, by wattage.

I was looking for the answer to how high heath's flooded tubes were designed and using that as a reference. If you know the dimensions of that, let me know. All I could find out was 4ft inner diameter.

I'm installing some shelves in order to run a vert organic SOG, and I'm trying to determine how much height a 600w can light up effectively, so I can figure out how many shelves and how far to space them. This information could also be useful for those doing weed donuts when it comes to plant finishing heights as well.

Strictly canopy height, not from the ground up (includes containers). Here's my best guess:

400w - 2.5ft
600w - 3ft
1000w - 4ft

Would you agree/disagree? Would 3.5 be better for the 600?

This does not mean that you cannot grow a 5ft plant with a 400w in vert gardens, you absolutely can. But the bottom nugs are obviously not going to be the same quality as the uppers. My 25-30" plants around my 400 yielded next to no popcorn and I didn't even trim out the bottom branches. I don't want entire clones at the bottom or top of my cab not growing good dense meds.

I'd say you're on the money. I use 4' of total height (floor to ceiling) for 600w and 6' of height for 1000w-1200w. Most of the vertical rooms I've seen that use 1000w bare bulbs also have around 5'-6' of head height.
