Im awaiting for it to arrive meanwhile i will build the frame what is the optimal coverage with this kit should i just build a replica of the fram that they are supplying? And last one how comparabel is this to a hps will it out manage my 2 400W hps lights? / Flodas

It will be a better spread than your hps. but it's hard to compare 800w to 400w... but you can get the cobs much closer to your canopy and spread the light over the 8 cobs.

my 400w vero framework has the cobs spaced 12" on center. Centered in my tent each cob is 1 foot from the sides

i have zero xp with HPS so i cannot speak that.

good luck

I have easily replaced my 600 HPS with 400 watts of cobs and out preformed the 600 as well...

PPF in the middle
I've seen you mention this sort of thing before, as if PPF were a spot measurement. There is no such thing as "PPF in the middle" :)

PPF cannot be measured at any one spot, its not stronger in one area than another...it is simply the total amount of photons (in the PAR range) produced by a light source. Period. It doesn't concern itself with where the photons end up, how far away the light is from some other point, or whether any of it is reflected in any direction whatsoever. It is a measurement of the total amount of photons (in the PAR range) that get emitted from the light, and is best measured using a sphere (which will capture every single photon emitted over 360 degrees and total it up).

Any spot measurement you make is a spot PPFD measurement, which is what all PAR meters measure.

As soon as you say that light is stronger in one area than another, you are no longer talking about PPF but are now talking about PPFDensity..

I'm trying to decide between the large Vero frame work and the large Cree the Vero seems to have a better output but the Cree is more... any ideas why? You just paying for the name "cree"? Lol
