vero29 heatsink idea

hey im gonna order 9 vero 29's and im looking for a good heat sink thats not super expensive for all of them, but im finding out i dont know where to look. can anyone help me out? also if you could recommend a drivers that would be cool too thanks!

How hot do you want to run them? Do you want passive or active cooling?

If running them low powered (under 50w each) you can use simple 1/8th aluminum sheet for whatever size you want to cover. Then you can add in dedicated fans or let room air circulation do the cooling. I replaced some cheapo chinese cob units with Vero 29 C that used simple aluminum sheet and they work fine, temps stay well below 60c when run at 500-700ma.

Baking sheets also work if you don't have access to a metal shop. You only need dedicated heat sinks if you plan on driving them hard.

i was thinking of getting some computer heat sinks with fans on them on ebay or newegg like .these ones.

wow. those are active cooled some im guessing those are gonna perform better then the other ones. have you took temp readings? and im about to order my stuff. came out to around $603 for 9 vero gen 7, 9 per tapped heatsinks 140mm, and 3 250-2100b mean well drivers also all the wiring and thermal paste and connectors. i think thats a pretty good deal. and they had free shipping too.

The 133 mm from northerngrowlights and vero 29 gen 7s at ~75 watts each are 120 F at its hottest point for the few fixtures I have with them running at 75 watts. I have some running at 100 watts each on the same heat sinks with a 50mm fan attached and are 104 F at hottest point.
