The plan is 2 x 600w digiluxs w/ digital ballast (outside) w/use of ac hoods

6in inline @430 cfm w/carbon filter be able to cool the area ? 2x 6in passive intakes. window cracked 2 inches in bedroom housing the grow with the closet . bedroom door can be open also

question is should i go 6in or 8in CF/inline/controller? 8000 btu ac will cool this come summer

Thinking pull hot air from the bedroom through the house to keep my house toasty? via fan in the doorway?

Space used to grow 3 x 5ft , 4-8 ladies
Total space of closet is 5 x 5 x 8ft

You would be fine with one 600w in that little of space. I used to have 4 600w for a 36 plant setup (9 plants under each hood) and we were getting at least a hp a week harvesting 3 plants at a time. I am about to start a small closet grow similar to yours, my full house days are over for now. I am going with a single 600w for 2-6 plants, depending on which method I decide to go with, and how my new strains like to grow.(Blueberry, Bluecheese, Skywalker) I may just try to pull air from the attic through the hood and back into the attic to cool my 600w hps. But that most likely wont be enough in such a small space, those bulbs get hot. If that's the case I have a hydrofarm ac unit that will go in the corner. Ill have to cut a hole in the drywall so I can run some ducting to my window and pull air in from outside as to not waste my precious co2. Going with 1200w I feel would be overkill. My closet is basically the same size as yours so just something to think about. From my experience an ac unit is almost always needed to keep the temperature down, especially with 1200w. It is winter though and if you live far enough north its always cold, so you may be ok. I live where it is hot.....a lot.

@ Double the lighting and double to triple the cfm.

my current setup @ 200 cfm with 4" carbonfilter/inline fan . i should be able to keep temps bout the same as i had with the single 600w

bump ? nobody ? current temp @ 75-80f w/4in inline fan / cf @ 200 cfm w/1 600w .
No thoughts on bumping up to 2x 600w hps w/430-750cfm w/ 6 or 8 inch carbon filter/inline/air cooled hood setups/ exhuasted into a bedroom then out a wondow or another room. with 2x 6 or 8in passive intakes This would clear the 200 cubic ft area 2-3x a minute vs 1x per min now

I have no experiece with hoods. But if you have a 4 inch fan now, id jump to a 8 or even 10 inch. The fans can be speed controlled. Better to have a bigger fan that you turn down and only runs at like 2/3 power, then a smaller fan running full bore all the time. That will give you some head room.

Yeah but here is what they dont tell you. That air cool hood is like a giant radiator. I grow barebulb. It is not uncommon to read of people doing nothing but taking the hood out their grow area and watching the temps drop 5-12 degrees.

So really it comes down to can you suck the heat out faster then it takes for your hood to get hot in 12 hours. 6" fan will run around $90, 8" $110, 10" $144, 12" $155 (all active air inlines priced at amazon). Also those fans are loud the bigger you get. But a 12" 1000cfm fan turned down to half power will be very quiet.

But im a vertical barebulb guy. I look at hoods as unnecessary expense. with the size of your closet, id take that 600 and do a weed donut. 6 ladies, untopped. final height of 48 inches. each plant at 18-24" from the bulb.

I quess the real question is, how much dried weight are you trying to grow per harvest. Figure that out first. like for me, i consume around 24-32 grams/2 weeks. roughly half an ounce/week. harvest cycle is 12 weeks. (8 for flower, 4 for dry/cure).
so that means for me alone, i need to harvest 192g per harvest. If you figure 28g/plant with 7 plants your done.

You will see people talking about grams/watt. 1g/watt is what most try for. ~.5g/watt are what a undialed first timer should get in a flat grow with hood depending on strain. (easy growing your bigbud varieties) My first barebulb grow i came in at 1.3g/watt.

You can pull 24 oz from a single 600. 24 zips is 672g. with 8 plants thats only 84g per plant.

4 ladies 4 ft tall . where can i find a good carb filterand fan combo cheap ?
I have a few people who have bought the following and are very happy with it.
