Pc fans don't have the static pressure of an in-line fan so they don't create very much negative pressure. I'm not sure what kind of a four-inch fan you have so I can't comment on that one. You may just have to play around with the set up and see what the temps are. If you're still using the CFL's like at the beginning of your grow I would switch to an HID light and a better 4" can type fan so you can add a filter and you won't need any other type of fans..

Good luck

My 4 in fan is a lakewood personal fan. you know the small ones, that have the bar around the back that holds it up. i pried the bar off and its just fan (case is still on it so not to chop the ladies)

where can i get an inline fan that is quiet? i would prefer not to have to order it online, if possible.

It doesnt seem that big to need an inline fan....

would i use the inline fan as intake and 4inch fan as exhaust? or opposite??

(limited budget)

With a decent inline you do not need an intake fan because the exhaust will cause fresh air to be drawn in. You can quiet one with a speed controller. Can get them online or in your local hydro store. Limited budget I've used a $15 home depot bath fan with a 400 hps. Those are as loud as a bath fan in your house.

The first kind of inline you have a pic of is a booster. These have lower static pressure and are usually rated way higher cfm then they. the second type is the kind you want. The cfm is pretty low but will work for that space. that being said cheap inlines are notoriously loud. There are some pretty good DIY on honeywell turbo velocity fans being modded to cool grow rooms. Those are like 15 bucks. Il try to find a link later its late lol
