Hey everyone, I just recently purchased a grow tent and i dont want to start my next grow op until i have my ventilation system setup. i have three four inch computer fans, two of which will have to be hooked up to carbon filters. can anyone post ther setup or tell me how i can do mine please. i need some ideas. i was thinking of using dryer vent tubes or something like that. i dont mind buying other fans i just need to know what kind and how to set them up. PLEASE HELP!!!

Axial computer fans will not be strong enough to blow through a carbon filter. You can use them for intake or circulation within the tent, so nothing is wasted. You can even use them to boost exhaust.

You need a strong fan with an impeller. There are many tutorials around here for DIY carbon filters as well. Depending on your space, lights, andambient temps, you will likely need a fan that is at least 150 cfm (or much more) cfm.

i use the same tent go to home depots web site and order a 6inch inline duct booster and build a DIY carbon filter then hook them to the vent tube that goes out the top

If you are looking at an inline duct booster fan from home depot, stop. Those are axial fans and are junk for blowing through carbon filter.

where did you find a 16"x16" tent?
mine is 4x4x7 i started with a 6" clip fan taken apart and stuffed in the top hole of my tent.
the inline duct fan will work but its not the best. what did you expect for $27?

Nope just not enough power to but in a pinch without the filter It will lower temps a bit if ya got the 125$ get the nice can fan

Good luck!

PS - I found a powerful impeller type fan (250 cfm w/some static pressure) for $10 at the home rebuilding/salvage center here. I found it on an oven range hood, disassembled it, and MacGyvered it up to work. Get creative, it can save you money!

I remember the time when my friend decided to go with the alternative way to cool his laptop. He decided to go in an electrician bringing his new computer fan to assemble it. I remember the electrician use a wire to connect into a male plug and into a computer fan.

i have a 4ft x 8ft tent that i run a top feed slab table in, with 2x 1000w hps. for venting i use 2x 6 inch blowers 475 cfm's. one blowing fresh air into the 6" vents on the hoods of the lights. the other is sucking the hot air out of the opposite 6" vents of the hoods, into a charcole filter on the outside of the tent. i have a regulare rotating fan in the room just to move air around. the tent stays nice and cool. blowers and filter purchased at the local hydro store. all venting pipe(dryer flex tubing) purchased at home depot.
