I have a lady in her second week of veg. Im using a t5 fluorescent that is 2 feet with 6 bulbs. Well 1 of the bulbs blew so now 5. I feel that my plants arent getting as big as they should with this lighting. I got a 600w hps that im waiting to use for budding but kinda want to use it to finish a 4 week veg.20150928_235613.jpg Oh, and i have a dimmer thingy for the hps.

the hps will do fine for veg. they might get a little stressrd out when you change rhe lighting at first but theyll pull through. I wouldnt even dim the hps, it wears in your bulbs more and why not give em the full 600 anyway.

I totally agree with this. Just put the HPS in action, and soon you'll notice how your babies are starting to love it. Just beware of the temperatures, and that's about it. Good luck with your project - please post more info and pics as the grow progresses!

This is mine after a 8 week veg under a t5 4 foot 8 tube first day under
Very pretty bush, reminds me of my own, despite the size-difference, lol - now, anyway, what size tent is that you're using? It looks perfect for my needs, and I'd need to know where to get a decent sized one shipped here to northern Europe, so not just inside the States or some such. Thanks in advance.

P.S. Size; yes please. If you don't know where to get them shipped this far; No worries, I'll find out one way or the other as always. :)

Yours,
Tomas

What about genetics in general, or just the characteristics of said strains? (Wild guesses, speculation)

I'm using a 5x5x7. It's a secret jardin about 300 U.S. Not sure the shipping policy but I'm sure they ship anywhere. It's a great tent perfect for me although it's maxed out with the one in there. Could use another light as well. And thank you. I'm very happy with how she is coming out.

Looks awesome man. yeah, i got a lot of learning to do. its like evry other week i have a problem. like i said a friend uses fluorescents and they look amazing as well.
Hey man I just want to clarify that, that's my girl after I put her in the tent under my 600 hps. The pic was the first day so all the growth before was from my t5 8 tube. I like to veg fluorescent really because of the energy. Trying to use as little as possible is hard to do. But both lights work well. I just don't like running my hps 24/7

This is them after the switch. Just switch the lights to 12/12.

just remember when you use hps they will stretch a bit if you eg for 4 weeks unless they are genetically inclined to be short. I beg under 600 watt metal halide then switch to hps for flower. MH light keeps them short and chubby, I like tho because I scrog and i know exactly how they will turn out. I used to go hps all the way but always ended overgrowing the screen during the first flower days stretch.
