Veg to flower to veg

hey i know there is probibly an answer SOMEWHERE in the posts n threads of this site but yeah i had trouble fidning anything soooooooooooo my question is b/c i want to know which plants r male and which are female early on due to room constraints and not wanting to waste energy and time on males plants i was wondering if it is possible for me to flower the plants for like a week or sumthing unfil i can indetify the sexes and then return to a light cycle such as 18/6 to make them return to veg? does this work effectively or does this run the possible consequence of screwing up tha plant

The conversion back to veg will slow them way down. If you wait they should show preflowers by the 5th or 6th week of veg.
