I have run both. The hardwater version is very acidic and will drop the ph of your water too low if you don't have hard water. My tap water reads .7-.8EC and the hardwater version worked well. I would get an EC reading of your water at your local hydro shop and if it isn't above .5EC just go with the RO version. I just finished up a round with the RO version and will be sticking with that as I noticed slightly higher yields. Then again my tap water here is noted one of the worst in the nation.

My last grow was done using this. If it were carried local I would use it again. I wasn't blown away but for a 1part, easy to use nute it works perfect.

I got the free sample, I requested the RO version.
I have very good tap water that is refreshing and tasty

PPM = 34
pH = 8.3

The simplicity sucked me in.

  • 1.5 tsp. @ 1-gal
  • 2.5 tbsp @ 5-gal

That gives me a 5.8 pH and a PPM of 740 (.05 scale) Thats it.

I got a cabinet of GH nutes and supplements Maxi Grow, Maxi Bloom and Floranova bloom, love them all - - a bit of a Lucas guy you might say.

We will see but so far were on our way just did the 1st week of 12/12 and swapped the rez out to Veg+Bloom on a Barneys Critical Kush grow.

If your a KISS type of grower then it works great, just be prepared to make slight adjustments to the "recipe" but it is pretty on it. And as I understand it that they will test your water for you and make a formula just for you if you buy a large enough amount. I believe it is something like 5 pounds or so and I know that if you call the number on the website you can speak directly to the guy that owns the company. Also you can order a sample if you call or email them and he will send it priority straight to you(labeled hydroponic-research if it matters to you). Personally IMO it is a bit expensive for something that is supposed to simple otherwise I would be using it now. If you use it I doubt you will be disappointed though.
