vaporizer ain't getting me high..

It's not that complex at all. I've found I get longer usage from my herb out of the hotbox than I do out of the vapir. The hotbox runs right at 375F *laser temped it* while I have to crank the Vapir up to 390F, using the exact same herb. I get probably 3 - 5 highs out of the hotbox and 2 out of the Vapir, but I put less herb in the Vapir so it averages out.

As far as the volcano or the extreme vape goes I simply don't want to spend that kind of money or screw around with the bags. I like the Vapir and the Hotbox because they're both solid state (no moving parts) which means less things to break. That and the Hotbox is made in California which means if it does go bad then I can get it fixed in the US instead of having to screw around with an Indian on the other end of the phone or international shipping.

I know 5 people who have the hotbox and they all love it because it is so simple and it's even a little decorative. I'm not saying anything bad about either the Volcano or the Extreme, I've not used them so I don't know if they're good or bad. I would put the hotbox up against any other 'box' vape on the market because of the ease of use and the customer service.

The Volcano bags are simple to use. The parts are impossible to break while dropping. High quality construction.

If you have a problem with your Volcano, you also send it to California (Los Angeles) for repair. You talk to an American, and an American fixes your product. In my case, they fixed it for free, and shipped it back to me for free within one week.

I'm not worried about complexity of use, it's more the fact that it uses a fan. I am responsible for 22000 PC's remotely and a little over 2000 of them in person. The most common point of failure for these computers is the fan. In just over 6 years at this job I've replaced a little over 700 fans and I've come to not trust anything with a fan.

That is my perception and nothing else. I didn't know that Volcano's had support in the US. Most imported products don't have support in the US (See Dell, Gateway, Compaq, Toshiba (hell anything.)) I'm glad to see that they put their effort into providing quality support in the U.S.

I still think that all in all as long as my lungs are able to pull hot air over herb with the Hotbox, that the addition of fans and bags is unnecessary and definitely not worth the extra $400 over the price of the HotBox.

This doesn't mean I don't think it's a good product, I've not once said that. I simply don't think that the cash outlay required to purchase one in combination with the riskiness of moving parts is right for me. Since I have a family, mortgage, car payment, cc bills, and all my income is 100% legal suddenly $400 becomes quite a chunk of change to save.

If I ever find someone who laid out the cash for a Volcano it's not like I'll turn down hits, in fact I'm quite curious to try one. For what it is (a hot air blower) and what the hotbox is (a heating element) ultimately I think I'll just use my lungs to provide the convection of hot air over the herbs instead of a fan. The bottom line is I wrote about the hotbox here, and I don't think its perfect (really no product ever is), it has some flaws, which I emailed the company about. For the money I think it's a good deal and it does a good job of vaping my herb without much waste.

I fully respect your opinion and if ever given experience with a Volcano I'll probably agree with it, but the bottom line is when it comes to paying the mortgage or buying a vape, the mortgage will win. At the end of the end of the day I hope I get to subject a volcano user to my hotbox and vice versa sp we can compare notes. I think we'll find that both are good if not great products that each has their place.

This is my setup, the bong is for my wife, she likes the 'pretty blue' of the pipe and the ice water helps her with the heat of the air since she's never smoked a thing in her life. I just use the whip directly to me.

^^^Don't feel like your the only one not getting high off Vaporizors. I've had my Vapor Brothers for about a week and have it dialed in. It feels cleaner for sure just not that knock you on your ass bong rip. I'm going to continue to vape but my bong will still be in heavy rotation. Gotta give this vaporizing a good chance....if I continue to feel mildly baked than I'll sell the VB and buy a better bong...Best of luck with your vape

^^^^Does it do the job for you? I bought the VB as a Christmas present to myself..... I figure I'd knock out two birds with one stone. Got me something that nobody would consider buying and this will also tie into my New Years resolution ......stop smoking pot.

I bought an Easy vape, say what you will about it, it works very nicely, just more of a body high than smoking.

I'm curious...i'm the type that wants to get HIGH with no bullshit. I keep hearing that vaporizers get you mad ripped versus smoking by other methods. Is the volcano the only one that is supposedly quality? Would I be better off using my great blunt skills and roll blunts to get baked as hell? Cuz if I decide to try switching to just vaping I wanna keep it that way lol

By the way the i-inhale seemed to be the shit when I first checked it out. Lots of people are complaining about having to refill gas into it and what not. From my research it seems like box vapes that you can just plug up and chill with would be a better bet. Shame cuz the i-inhale is so portable and stealthy.

honestly I think you should check out the vapir one 5.0 if you have an extra 150 and you want to see if vaporizing is your thing.

because the vapir isn't the highest quality, but it's higher quality than those box vapes. it'll just give you a good idea of if you really like vapes or not I guess.

I ordered mine, still waiting for it to come here so I'll post back when I get it ;).

buy reynolds turkey oven bags. it fills up 10-14 fat rips and it's amazing.

I fucking miss my vapir right now because I sent it in for repairs. should have it back in a week or two.

it's better than whip vapes because the first hit which tastes good but isn't as psychoactive, is diffused with the end hits which are more psychoactive but don't taste as good.

the result, full rips that get you higher and higher each time you hit it. it's a very elegant way to medicate, makes me want a volcano more and more.

vapir air one 5.0 is only good because it's cheap and it works. other than that I'd say go with the volcano or something cheaper if you want. . . personally I wouldn't fuck around if you had the money for a volcano.

I've had an Extreme for about 9mo now. It took some time/messing around with settings, but I think I've come up with a pretty good routine. :bigjoint:

1. Grow your own weed.
2. At harvest trim the buds up a bit closer than usual - get most of the greenery out
3. Dry the hell outta the greenery
4. Grind the hell outta the greenery
5. Forget about the bags that come with the Extreme and get some Reynolds Turkey Bags (about twice the size of the ones that come with the Extreme and you can get them at the grocery store)
6. Fill bowl to the line where the rubber top/clear glass meet with your ground up goodness
7. Put bowl on vaporizer, set temp to 210C
8. Let it sit for 10min to warm the bowl up (this is one of the key points).
9. After 10min set fan to 3, once the bag is about half full stop the fan and stir the bowl

As an additional bonus my grinder has a kief catcher in the bottom (most do), so every now and then I'll make some easy greenish hash outta it (wax paper and iron method). Cut the hash into little chunks and vape it (only needs about 3-5min warm up time too) - man does that rock! Best/most efficient way to smoke hash ever bongsmilie
