Vaping problems

Just got a Vicod 56 vaporizer. I crushed some herb to a powdery consistency and packed the pipe but not too tightly. I get a small amount of smoke and if i get a lot it is harsh and makes you cough. Also sometimes get a nasty taste. Any ideas?

dunno 410 is supposed to be ideal , vaping dry herb doesn't create smoke, you are burning it if that happens, it just heats the herb to the point where the THC vaporized off the plant material and becomes airborn. Its not going to vape like a regular vape pen with PG/VG in it. My first dry herb pen was like that, hard to tel if it was working, but keep puffin on it and it does eventually work. Not sure you need to powder the herb either, I just grabbed nugs small enough to put in the pen, I dont own your unit though, so maybe they specify grinding it dunno.

I've got an 85w SMOK mod that I use around the 24.5w - 31.5w range. I find with herb, the higher the setting. The harsher the hit. And the more it tastes like having a dry pipe. Rather than being able to enjoy the palette of the herb in the tank.

Some atomisers also don't like to be used with temperature controlled mods. Rather, they're suited to watt and ohm regulation.

My TFV8 Baby Beast liquid tank is rated up to something like 60w at .4 ohms. And my Mr Bald 2 dry herb tank is rated to only 30w at .5 ohms. Neither are suitable for thermal regulation mods.

I start my vape at 375 and take 4-5 puffs then go up to 380 and puff a few more then finish at 385 till no more vapor is produced. I heard 400 or more will burn the flowers
