Vanilla Kush Issues

Okay so i just have a 400 w hps in a hydro set up that's bubbleponics and top feed. Growing two vanilla kush ladies in the 4 gal res. I pretty much follow the Techna Flora starter kit's guide, with a few tweeks here and there. Anyway, my leaves and buds and turning a deep purple color. the leaves that aren't purple are yellow and very crispy. Also, i'm getting these cattail like growths at the top of some of the buds with new white pistils. Will this fill in or what???? what's causing it???? any help would be much appreciated!!!!!! Love and Light

and yes the root system looks pretty good. a hint of red or brown roots but i think it's just from the nutes staining them. they smell like water.

i'm not exactly for sure on the time. prolly around day 60 of flowering. trichs are just now taking the complete shape.

I just did a quick analysis on orange to white ratio and it seems to be almost at the end of it's run. Your buds have plumped, the leaves are contributing what ever nutrients they had left to the buds and you should be roughly a week into flushing with plain water.

As weird as it may be after growing this far, all plants have a lifespan and yours is almost at the end. Looks like you did good mate.

While looking for a 80% foxtail ratio (orange, curled trichs) you need to look at 2 things. 1) the ratio per bud and 2) the ratio per plant.

If you think you have 80% per plant then don't worry about the new growth this far into the run for fear of the mature buds becoming 'over done'.

I would definitely solicit more opinions on this, possibly from the folks with 2000+ post counts and/or those with high reps.

Well I think the purple is because of cooler air. You been flowering 60 days, have you started your flush? Do you know what your pH is and PPM of your res?
If you are still feeding , you may have nute burn or ph lock.

i have started the flush a few days ago. was gonna go back to feeding . i still have clear trichs. have you ever seen bud grow those cat tails at the top of them??? i wish i could pin point what was causing that cuz the rest of the plant that has filled out good looks great

To me 1600 ppm is high. I'm usually in the range of 1100-1300ppm and have herd you should not go over 1500ppm. PH lock is when your ph is off it will lock out different nutes. For hydroponics you want a ph about 5.7. For soil you want 6.5 ish.. I've seen a chart before I'll see if i can find it.
