Vacuum sealing jars for curing, storing?

 I've been wondering if in the process of curing could you vacuum seal the jars? Or use this process in storing. I'm pretty sure,(least i think) that if you vacuum seal while curing you would speed up moisture removal and reduce mold. I would think at least it would be great for storing. Thoughts??
There's probably a thread in here somewhere that's covered it but I can't find one.

I'd think that if there is still moisture in the buds and they are vaccumed sealed, it would speed up mold formation, not the curing process...

edit: Now, if you opened the bags as if they were in a jar (2-3 times a day), it might work...

I would only use a vacuum sealer for long-term storage. Nothing like a nice slow cure. :joint:

I can understand that. It seems the proper curing process is the trick. I only bring this up because a job a had years ago used a vacuum process to remove moisture. Also I know that if you put crackers or cookies in a jar and vacuum seal it they'll last 5 times longer..great for those emergency munchies.

I'd imagine that the buds would be in the same condition that you vacuum sealed it as. If you sealed it wet, then it would stay wet and if you sealed it dry, it would stay dry. The purpose of vacuum sealing is to take out ALL the air in the container as air is what causes organic items to go bad.

i read that this dude did an experiment and kept buds in a vacuum sealed jar for 2 years.. he said when he opened it it was better tasting and more potent
