UVB lights?

I'm using flouresant lights and my friend just told me about uvb light what is the difference?

UVB supposedly is damaging to the tissue of plants. The THC acts as a sun screen to protect the leaves. High UVB levels can degrade THC due to the damaging radiation it puts off. UVB offputting lamps are used to help select for high THC containing genetics, but flowering under one can cause THC reduction.

An HID like HPS doesn't seem to give off much/any UVB lighting.
