I'm glad I found this. I bought a 2 lamp HVAC purifier. I used it to help clear up a powdermold issue. Now it just sits on a shelf. this thing draws .2 amps, so how high should I start with. I was thinking on a timer of few times a night. What do you guys think?

Bump and Old Thread.

Look into the

Arcadia T5 54w Dragon Reptile Bulb. 46 inch. Most powerful UVA/UVB bulb available.

Use them at `108w x 4 x 4 @ 18 inches from canopy top. Experiment first with 2 feet, and slowly bring to 18 in. Will penetrate 3 feet. Will also blind you if you muck around. Work only when lights are off.

Use 2/3 of the time lights are on, in Veg/Flowering. That's what Ive had success with anyway.

If vegging 18 hours, use the UVA/UVB 12 hours.

12 hours flowering use for 8 hours.

I run them 2 hours after HID come on, and turn them off 2 hours before they HID go off.

Veg I wait 3 hours before activating UVA/B, and turn off 3 hours before lights out.

I use 1 x 1000w Hortilux Superbulb for each 108w UVA/UVB in 4 x 4.

If you put 2 x 54w Dragon bulbs on any weed plant, in a 4 x 4, with no breakin, it will Fry It. Short Order. It would take 2 weeks to bring up to full strength, and proper height with these bulbs. They will fry you like a Tanning Bed.

I just simulate whats going on at the equator. No More. No Less.

Reports aren't fact. To little is known, so I just try and replicate nature. Nature knows best.

Ad like I said. If you think your going to put 108w of this bulb on a plant that's no broken in, you Will Kill the plant.

I'm giving these plants Huge amounts of UVA/UVB, as recommended by the people at Arcadia, and they also said you have to slowly adjust unprotected plants.

Also, if you get these bulbs to close, even if they are grown all their lives like this. You will Still Fry the plants.

These bulbs can Exceed the UVA/UVB output of High Altitude Andes, Ecuador, Peru, Columbia if your not careful.

I don't believe the Arcadia are as strong as the Agromax. Both will quickly damage your eyes if not careful, and will fry any plant if care is not taken. Arcadia is the most powerful Reptile Bulb, and also has a full spectrum.

Just like taking an inside plant started under HID ect, and stuck out in full sun. It will die. Some may make it every now and then, but odds are against it.

I find that UVA also increases potency and studies have shown many other benefits to using UVA. UVB only stimulates THC production and not CBD or other cannabinoids where as UVA stimulates the production of both. the 1987 study sighted here is flawed because the filter used did not effectively block UVA. natural sunlight only contains 0.15% UVB but 9% UVA and in my own grows I found that adding UVA improved potency and taste and solved a spider mite problem I have been dealing with on and of for a few years.guess them little critters don't like UV

Maybe it strengthens the plant and it became more resistant to the mites.

Bare bulb MH didn't slow spider mites down the last time I had them in my tent.
It was a race to the finish, followed by a thorough rinse.
Not pretty but it worked. Most of the bud was used to make cannabutter for edibles, so it was fine.
In fact, that particular batch of butter has become famous for knocking folks on their ass. There's a reason my brownies are small, but some people insist on eating two.

I just switched to the Solacure UVA/UVB. Have you seen these ??

Allegedly, these are the most powerful UVA/UVB Bulb made, and also have a built in reflector.

This isn't their most powerful bulb, but is the most powerful for Plants. They also have stuff for Livestock, and Wood Curing. 2 will cover a 4 x 4 area, but its still recommended to either rotate the plants, or put the UV bulbs on a Plant Mover. That's what I'm going to do. 1 Motor can drive 2 tracks, so Ill need 3 motors, and 6 rails. They also need to be at least 1 foot off the canopy.

Also use chitosan, triggers the same response.

400 watts of 10,000k ran all day will fry plants. Been there and done that!
And $50 for a 250 watt bulb plus a 250 watt ballast to drive it.
