UVB/Cannabis science report

For a novice grower, the amount of information available can be confusing. However, for more dedicated researchers, in that ton of information you may find the answer to your problems. If the researcher has any background in the subject, better still. Unfortunately, or fortunately (capitalism reigns), there is the market. And the market is the jungle, and in the jungle wild things happen.:spew:
There is certainly distorted information from manufacturers who simply want to make money. And we see, an absurd amount of people who get carried away by advertising, without evaluating what they are really buying. I'm a physics teacher, and I obviously believe in science. Even so, the science itself can be corrupted by spurious interests, of companies, governments  and etc ...
Still, I'd rather believe in science. If it was not, when I became ill or in pain, I would go to a magician :dunce: and not a doctor. I believe that man has stepped on the moon, and also that the earth is round!
And over the candles ... they certainly are better in all of the leds:clap: ... except for a few BTUs ...

That guy is triggered.
Hope he sees it.
Wonder if he's going to have the guilt and embarrassment that I felt afterwards. The guilt and embarrassment are annoying but a good sign for me in one way. Tells me I'm cooling down.
After two months of staying away I see the party cup challenge and get excited, I wanted to help brainstorm with the soil growers and help and for it I get called a hijacker. Next thing I know I'm out of control.

Sure wish the site @adm had the ability to lock me out from being able to post in the LED section. Still want to read it just want to be banned from posting there.

If you do that for me, I'll get down on my knees in front of you ADM person, just like they do there, when a 1st time posting new member gets his cock sucked for giving a glowing description of his LED SCROG.

Younare welcome to respond to any and all of my posts. I for one appreciate your contributions regardless of if I agree with them, your delivery of them, wether or not I think we would be beer drinking buddys or not, I dont know or care, its not relevent when maintianing learning and inquisitive mindset. If people cant let some water roll of their backs, take passing jabs with a grain of salt, then they are being way too serious about this for me.

You might be a dick but it it dosent bother me!

I'm not a dick. In person I get along with everyone actually. In the poker rooms in Vegas I judged people by there character not by much else. I was around every type of person you can think of from street people to judges to mobsters and everything in between. I got along with about 96.5% of them. I think we could drink a beer, hopefully 10 beers, I don't like drinking with people that can't finish 2 bottles. ;)

They do. They can ban you from posting in that section. Just ask @sunni or @rollitup

I just cant support much led data, they are limited even with these full spectrums. Too many years of twisting data with no real results. Cmh has made them redundant in many big growshops here, dont even stock them anymore and have disclaimers saying that they lied in the first place.

Would you choose led over cmh at the prices they charge anyway.
They're similar in price. I can build a 300 watt Samsung panel for the same price of a CMH.

I've learned a couple other things about LED's in my studies aside from the manufacturers also being full of shit with their claims of light footprint size and replacing HID lights 2x their wattage. Oh wait, I guess those other tidbits of info are also about those manufacturers being full of shit. The "premium" lights are just a huge upcharge over the cost of Chinese LED's for the most part (I'm talking the good ones, not the red and blue 1/2 watt diode shit, and no, I'm not naming brands. Look for 5 watt or higher chipped to 3 or higher to get decent penetration, secondary lenses, full spectrum, and infrared.
El! Oh! El!

Ignorance on display. Amazing.

I still don’t think you can build an equivalent lamp for the same money. I can get a Phillips equipped 315cmh from Growers house for about $250 now.

It comes with about 3’x3’ coverage at 18” or so. Uva and uvb. More if I choose the 4200k bulb. And since it’s an hid some radiant heat and IR. And of course a high cri for natural looking colors.

That is a complete stand alone low watt light source for very low dollars.

For shorter plants a t-5 fixture is cheaper to buy and more effective as well if we are talking spectrum quality.

Although I wouldn’t even consider that amount of led light for flowering. I am not happy with only the 315 flowering either. But I like to grow with multiple lamps and a larger space preferably.

No. Just, no.

I understand that you're super T5 guy, but you're seriously delusional. I recently replaced 500 watts of T5 in my veg room with 300 watts of Samsungs and my plants couldn't be happier. Increased health and growth, minus 200 watts.

I only use t-5’s for small veg plants in a little 3x3 tent. Or a 2x3 propogator tent.

I find them a little slow actually. But the results are quality.

Although I haven't ran the 315 watt cmh. I have ran many of the old style 330 cdm's and find they are best as supplemental lighting to a HPS not as a stand alone light for flowering. For vegging they do fine but for flowering alone, no thanks.

Like I found too. 315 watts is not enough alone but the new bulbs are much more powerful for horticulture than the old ones.

I am supplementing with mine.

HPS alone grows bigger and more potent buds because of the intensity but it is easier to keep plants green under the fuller spectrum for sure.

Could you please block me from being able to post in the LED section. Just that one please. :peace:
@rollitup I see you have been online. Probably my last post for the night.
Never spoke before but do me a favor and block me from posting in the LED section if it is allowed. I don't need time to think about it. I won't bother you again asking to be unblocked.
Thanks!
