I know that black light is not the right spectrum.Reptile lights are probably the way to go, but I've also heard that metal halide emits the right wavelengths of uvb as well. This video is long, but it explains about the effects of uvb on cannabis.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IPcpt3Be28o

'black light' only produces UVA. UVB is what you need. UVB also reduces odors. reptile light is the best. there are several manufacturers making several different UVB quality lamps, 2%, 5%, and 10%. they come in compact (like coils or loops) and full size (tubular). these are only effective during the flower stage, to increase trichrome production of THC.

be careful with those light, they'll give you a sunburn, harm your eyes, and, possibly, cause melanoma, skin cancer.

well, most HID's lights produce UVA/B, but are coated to prevent their escape from the bulb...
These are the ones that are used for growing in mind. But if u buy ones for security lights or whatever they usually have a perspex or glass sheet infront which filters out the harmfull rays. Take that offf and u should be gettign bigger abd nicer buds. I believe thats what the glass is for to reduce UV rays.
