Using nets pots question

I do not use nets pots, but am considering giving it a try, the reason i would use them is so i can rotate the pots for more equal light penetration. The question is after the plants have been growing long enough to have a root base where the roots come through the pots and start to penetrate the hydroton in the my ebb and flow system wouldn't rotating the pots tear the roots that have grown outside of the net pot? I am thinking it would stress the plant out if the roots kept being pulled, tugged , or ripped.
