Using Equipment From Dirty Growers

Well, I had a friend donate some equipment to me like a couple of ballasts, bulbs, and air pumps. This said friend though gave up growing because he constantly got smacked with mites. Would there be any chance that this equipment still has mites or anything on it after a year of sitting in his basement? My primary concern being the air pumps, and the cotton/filter used for trapping particles on the air intake piece.

Thoughts?

Wipe everything down with bleach. Either get a new filter for the air pump or soak that one in 3% h2o2
