Use caution when visiting garden centers/hydro stores

I'm not sure how this is legal but best to be aware of it, just in case. This article mentions the ex CIA couple in Kansas, a woman in Illinois and a few others that were busted because they were observed exiting certain stores by local police assigned to the DEA. (Highway Patrol handles that function in MO.)
Anyway, woman is seen leaving store with something in a bag. Police observe and report. Electrical usage is compared to neighbors. Suspicious material found in trash field tests positive for cannabis. Warrant is issued, SWAT-style raid ensues. A small amount of dried cannabis was netted in the raid.

I bolded that part because that always comes up. In and of itself I don't think it is enough for a warrant but wtf do I know?

Really good use of DEA resources, a-holes. Much the same as where I'm living, 2 people I know of and others I've heard about have been busted for DUI on Saturday/Sunday mornings. The cops setup spot-checks for drinking drivers by Tim Horton's coffee shops on a Saturday or Sunday mornings. Not to catch people driving drunk, to catch them from drinking the night before, apparently it takes several hours for booze to dissipate through your system, one of my buddy's had stopped drinking around 1:00 am, got pulled over in one of these spot-checks at 11:00 am the next morning and still blew over, even though he felt nothing after sleeping it off. Bastards. While I don't condone drinking or puffing while driving, this takes it to a whole new level...

I don't feel comfie leaving the hydro tech store with a PU truck of soils, pots, impulse items and fans. I try to pay cash, I try to wait till the coincidental patrol car across the street leaves. If I start making connections to the power companies new evaluation of my power uses (I use more than my efficient neighbors, but less than all my neighbors. This month I won one smiley face.), and connections to the letter telling me the town was flown and examined for houses leaking of heat, and to cooperate with the home envir. solu. co, who when they finally knocked on my door were told, 'yeah, I'm not interested, now get off my property', then I'd go nuts.

The only thing I got going for me, I carry in my car and have on my desk: My cancer biopsy. Plus, the door will be answered my my bald GF with breast cancer. But I hope they knock rather than use the tank.

Even if you are in a LEGAL state and have LEGAL documentation, RIPPERS scan stores for people making large purchases and then follow you to your grow.
