US patent for cannabis!!!! WTF

So WTF just watched a show and come to find out the US government has US patent on cannabis the US GOVERNMENT!!!!! DEA is part of this government. Patent first sentence reads (Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NDMA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in treatment and prophylaxis of a wide variety of oxidation associated diseases). So my ? is if the government knows and clearly says this is a medical benefit to every one Why is it the keep it at a schedule 1 drug????

They have to find a way to profit off of it first before they change it from a schedule 1 drug.

If they did indeed manage to wrangle a patent on "nature," it's invalid. Everyone knows they didn't invent cannabis, or anything it naturally contains.

They could, however, patent a specific genetically modified strain they produced.

There's quite a lot of "wtf!?" they do with their own laws.

I've reached the point where i can no longer acknowledge their invalid claims of authority to which they are not entitled, regardless of their incessant assertions.

They don't have the right, regardless of any "law" they've contrived as a means to advance their own agendas at our expense.

Anyone can arbitrarily "write a law" and "declare whatever," but that doesn't give them the right to impose anything on anyone else. They're just armed bullies (aka terrorists) at this point.

if i recall correctly i believe that some tobacco companies have trademarked potential names for pot when/if it becomes legal.
