Really???

Looks like a type of springtail to me.
Very possible, but I figured he woulda mentioned the fact that they were jumping away when disturbed or when he was trying to snap a picture of it but I dont remember seeing any mention of it. I can really only assume. Spinosad will eraticate that species of bug as well as thrips so its the same cure either way.

Sorry to tell you that spinosad doesn’t eradicate springtails.

Not in my experience anyway lol.

It worked for me more than twice? Not as fast as for thrips but it worked. Im in MI so thats the 2 main things I've really had to deal with here were thrips and springtails. Im also in hydro with an inert medium.

You were correct. It's thrips and here is how you disambiguate:

Look at the third pic although coloration is a bit different, morphology is the same. In either case Spinosad will eradicate both of them. If Spinosad didn't work for a springtail then the user did not use a surfactant. If you don't use a surfactant any small bug's surface tension will allow them to oxygenate and you must root drench even if you spray. I only root drench.

Once the thrips are gone I spray several times with water to get rid of any feces left by the bugs. Don't want to smoke that!

Okay guys let's take it down a notch. Everyone has had different experiences, people live in different climates and have different grow set up. I'm a total noob when it comes to this stuff, so everything you have all said and all the help you've given i greatly appreciate but there is no need to be at each others throats like this. You're both trying to achieve the same goal, helping a fellow grower and you have both done this. Thank you both for your input but please try and understand that we all have different experiences. We geow to medicate and relax, not attack each other. Peace and love guys. Thank you again.
