Upside down weed?

Not even a few minuetes ago i was reading and trying to find a better way to sprout seeds and i ended up learning tomatoes and weed are something alike and like the same thing and then i thought of this commercial where tomatoes are growing upside down so i thought could you grow a weed plant hanging upside down in soil?
well i know that you can but will it be any good or will it just try to grow up and not hang down and let the nutes and water go up to the leaves??

if anything would it be a good experiment?

PLEASE DO!!!!! i had this idea a while ago, and the fact that its upside down just makes the plant's nutrient transport more easy for it -this is why those new upside down plant hangers are supposed to have more fruit ... i think
anyways, it would look sweet as fuck too so i say go for it, and i look forward to seein some pics of it!

Its called a topsy turby or something I actually just bought one and was gunna stick a clone in one and see what it does. Should be fun Ill post pics tomorrow or the next day. Need some more soil.

you have to make sure the light coming up at it FAR EXCEEDS other ambient light, otherwise im confident the test will be bogus.

great... if this turns out to be a good thing.. here ill be trying to invent a new watering method for roots.

Hey folks, I am growing some weed on a shelf above my main grow, not quite upside down, more on a sideways tip. Seems to be working so far. Anasazi OG Kush -

plants definitely dont sense gravity, just light -either way, it works by growing out to the sides and opening the plant up, it hangs down but twists to grow up around the sides - a tomatoe does it the same way as a cannabis plant would
but you don't need light underneath, although that would work too, and be interesting in itself to see the structure, my guess is mirror image upside down, because the plant essentially grows to maximize photosynthesis which means leafs straight out and branches to the light

Everything on our planet senses gravity, Buddha Bud - otherwise plants would float away would they not. Thats why vertical growing, cyclindrical growing, etc, can produce crops - sometimes in shorter periods of time.

i figured some one has done it. ill prolly try it in the summer so i can grow one inside and one outdside to see if will have any different effect depending on conditions

maybe, but that is not why plants grow up or why they dont, float away? thats the effect of gravity, not the plant feeling gravity - a dead leaf doesn't 'sense' gravity but it is still held down

I have used a topsy turvy and it will be fine. Definitely veg right side up until it is at least a foot, and then flip. The leaves will turn over even if it is away from the light(they sense they are upside down) but will continue to grow.......

I was going to mention that ferris wheel looking contraption......I remember they were in every shop a few years back. Don't see them anymore......but that could be a reflection on cost more than usefulness. I've never seen a harvest pic from one either. Anyway, I don't think it's a fair comparision because that thing is changing the gravity constantly as it rotates.
Looking at the pic of the plant upside down....I see the lower tips are turned up......which makes me believe they do sense gravity....but may turn against it given enough light...... I wouldn't attempt this because.......Where does the water go if you over water?? Looks like out the hole, down the plant and finally dripping onto that light below.......I'd also think that the roots will all be clustered at the bottom of the planter because of gravity...unless you grew the plant a while then flipped it over or transplanted to this putting the original rootball to the top and burying stem to make more roots.....
I'll applaud thinking outside the box....but I'd view it as a novelty....no harm in trying though....

i tired during the summer, but it didint work out to well because it was hard for the sun to hit the plant as i hung it from a tree, im gonna try again next year

your not supposed to have a light below them necessarily, they're for growing tomatoes n stuff, noones gonna go to that much extent to grow tomatoes, the leaves turn and react to the sunlight from above
