Upgrading my growroom - New to sea of Green

Howdy all,

I got a self contained space (4"x3"x7") that I have been using with 2 Orion garden systems for the past few years. In the room is a 1000 and 400 watts lamp in cool tubes that are connected to a 6 and 4 inch fans that blow out the hot air into some air filters. I have a passive air intake that bring in some cold fresh air and a few fans to keep things moving around. I was growing 18 plants and getting some very nice results with no heat, moisture or bug problems.

I've just got a ebb and flow 3x3 table and I am looking to grown by Sea of Green method and see how that works out for me. Also looking to use the same equipement ( I do have an extra 400 watts I could use, but that means more air out).

Dude told me that I could put a plant every 3 inches (in rockwool cubes) for a total of 72 plants in 9 square feet as long as I flipped them when they are 6 inches high. I got some doubts about that many plants.

I was hoping I could get some insight from some pro's on here on what they think would be a the max I can stick in my 3x3. I'm not looking to grow them very high (3.5 feet max) and sadly due to my real job I can only do one crop this year, so really want to max out on the total output.
As a side note I cant do CO2 as my fans run 24/7 to keep the room under control.

Thanks!

I grow SOG soil and have a 4'x4' room for my flower room. I use 8" pots for each plant this allows me to get 48 plants in there. So there is only 16 square ft but 48plants

using 6 inch pots allows you to pack in mathmatically 36 plants but i keep it more around 25 with 5 rows of 5 pots.
you will want to lollipop your plants by cutting off all branches in the lower 1/3 of the plant at the end of flower week 1 and end of flower week 3
give this thread a good read just remember his measurements are off in the first half of the thread. his tray is a 3 x 3 and his pots are bigger than he initially says as well

I'm confused...
How do get 48 plants in 8" pots in 4X4 room?
Correct me if I'm wrong...But according to my math, you can only get 36 plants.

seems like it would be 36 plants tops.
Unless he is squeezing his potters together
his potter size is off or his tray dimensions aren't right

Sorry my pot size is off. I had to go check it is 6" pots and they are squezzed very tight. I cycle my plants every two weeks. Two rows of 6 plants is my 12 plant harvest ever two weeks. I rotate them from back to front so the ones taking out are easy to get to. Also the room is 8 rows deep and only six wide this leaves me 12" to sneak on one side to maintain the plants. It is a huge hassle but worth packing them in for the yield.

I just harvested today. So the first two rows are week 6-8 the next two rows are weeks 4-6 and the next two weeks 2-4. I started with just one 400hps on all of these and a few weeks ago I put a 400mh in there two and the plants in weeks 2 have nugget formation for the first time in my setup so its going to get better. They usually didnt start forming good nugs till week 4 just a lot of stretching. The last row I am filling in as my clones come they are a little slow this time for some reason.

Sounds like what I want to do in my cabinet. But with 6 inch pots, I can only get 10 (2 rows of 5). Kinda suck, but its my first time.

I am only yielding an ounce every two weeks right now. Things are looking much better since I upgrader my lights but I wont have a batch that has been through the 800w of light for another 4 weeks. I am new to this and my plants aren't nearly as healthy as they could be. It is very difficult to take care of these plants when you have this many....lol....and I might not always be the best dad but I am learning the strain and getting better each harvest.
