Update on my first grow

I do not have a cal/mag product. It's just a cheap organic soil with worm castings or something like that. I'm using filtered tap water.

I had 2 plants which I started from an unknown View attachment 3752017 View attachment 3752018 bag seed. After switching to 12/12 on 7-30 I had to chop down one has it showed me his balls. The other has started to thrive rather nicely. The first pic is the last night before 12/12. The second I took this morning when I got around to checking on her. Starting to show more and more hairs and spread out nicely. I had a failed FIM which I followed up with a successful top. This is my first attempt at a grow that has survived past week 2. I work from home now so it's easy to tend to it constantly. I'm not really hoping for much more than to have something to harvest. I did cut a clone yesterday which I have in a peat pellet. I used Rapid Rooter powder after shaving some of the bark off then trimmed the larger leaves back a bit.

What do you guys think I might be able to get out of this baby?

sweet idea with those bread ties! I have a huge roll of those.

I actually put up another thread earlier today looking for some input on a growth. It seems to be just a swelling value after comparing my image to some others I've found on the boards. This is for sure a fun experience and have another plant from seed on a 12/12 from seed that I topped just a few days ago and thinking it's about time to top the new tops.

What do you mean by a swelling value. As that your plants have stopped going vertices and the buds are just swelling?
I just read back some again and found a spot on page one I totally missed. Man this Strawberry Cough I'm smoking on is cerebral. My mind sees something and instantly I get lost in thought about that one thingfor a couple minutes until I realize I have to go back and read 8 posts over again because I have no idea what they said. Lmao I do apologize because I had asked you on August 8 what your nutes and soil were. Man I'm a dummy lol.
But anyways yeah. Your talking about swelling. Your plant is just over 4 weeks in flower and just about every strain stops their stretch before or by week 3, so yes you are at an exciting time in flowering to sit back and watch your buds get bigger everyday.

On topping the second time on th e 12/12 from seed girl. Just be careful that your not doing the top close enough to when she hits maturity and starts to flower. I'm guessing the plant is about 3 weeks old if you are already ready top again right?

This new one is actually growing pretty quick... 3 weeks sounds about right. I know I probably topped to early but with how fast it's growing didn't see much harm. Took a day for new growth once topped.
This is a picture of the growth I referred to.

When I first saw it I was a little scared it might be going hermie but it's just the swelling as far as I can tell.

No need to apologize bud, I got some Skywalker thats been making paying attention tough lol. I'm getting really excited about this grow. The smell she's developed the last couple of weeks are amazing.

It is a swollen calyx. Keep your eyes on it as it may be polinated. If you watch that single calyx swell abnormal compared to others more than likely it got pollinated somehow. The red hair coming from it can be a tell as well.

Skywalker is next on the breeding list :)

With only one plant and no visible nanners, how could it have been pollinated?0

Very good question. The only answer would be that it popped a very small male flower, possibly tucked into a crevis of a bunch of calyxs. I have seen IT happen a few times. Who knows it's possible when your timer failed awhile back it stressed it enough to produce pollen from something as small as even the tip of a ballpoint pen. Hence why you whole bud isn't pollinated , it wold have been tiny tiny. Also three weeks later it could be impossible to even find the remnants of it because after not long, like all flowers they shrivel up over time.

But bro to be honest it might not even be pollinated. Just keep your eyes very closely on that calyx and over the rest of the plant. If it continues to swell and remain isolated like that with no new hairs coming from the area then it's a good chance. You can even feel it after a little while squeeze it and if it doesn't squish then yiu have you self a seed pod.

Sounds good. Skywalker is definitely a nice strain. When you say breeding you're crossing strains?

That's cool. I'm a long way off from feeling comfortable enough to do that.

Are there any tips or tricks to keeping a plant healthy when you have to go out of town for a week?
Ok oh that's a toughie... especially in mid flower. If it was in veg and depending on how much time you had left until you went away I'd transplant into a bigger pot that holds more water so it would be longer times in between waterings. But mid flower hmm... Idk I'll think on that

I think about the only way I can do it is if I do a heavy flush the morning I am set to leave but I'm still afraid of her drying out to much before I get back.

I did some reading about early harvesting and what have you... I'm pretty sure I'm to early but I'd rather harvest something than have her die off on me while I'm gone.
What do you think?
