I've read a couple of post that stated that when you first pull your plants that you should wet the roots real good cover the roots then hand them in the dark upwards for 3 days or a week. then turn the upside down in the dark for a week before trimming and cutting the buds. Then trim and cut the buds placed them in a jar and cure burping the jar 1 a day for 30-60 min. Is this a good method or what is the best method. I uprooting one Sunday

You don't really need to do all of that - just get some pruning shears & take them down & hang in a dark cool area.
No need to fuss with up-rooting the plant.

Everyone was a newbie at some point. Humidity and circulation is very important. You don't want them drying out too fast because it will be harsh, too slow and you could develop mold. hanging them is just convenient and they look nicer and you can hang a lot of branches on coat hangers. I use this because of limited space.
You will get a little flat spot if you don't turn them. :-( After that they do the jar papersack dance. Then it's back home to the jar. They get better after a 4 month cure.

Cut, hang to dry in a dark place, keep them there until you can bend a small twig and it snaps, that is your sign to move on to the next step, trim, then put in air tight jars at first it is important to check on your buds often, if they feel to wet for you put them in a paper bag overnight, then back in the jars, keep burping until safe to leave them.
What really helps is putting a Boveda humipack in the jar, it helps to keep moisture at 62 if it's up it will bring it down. Same if it goes dry, it will bring it back. I have been using this for many years and it works great.
Good luck

Why do people trim after they're dry? Nice I did not know about those. http://www.bovedainc.com/

This is my method
1 - grow some dank
2 - start cutting off branches from the bottom of the main stem, trimming all all the leaves off that branch, then hang it on a wire or string (I use clothes pins to attach to my string)
3 - continue all the way up the plant till you reach the cola, then cut your stem at that point and hang that from your wire/rod/string (old fashioned clothes drying wracks work). At this point all you will have is the main trunk, still in the pot.
You really should cut all the leaves off immediately, as the more wilted/dry they become the harder it is to do a nice trim.
As mentioned above, dry until the branches snap when bent. Jar it, check it every day (all you have to do is pop it, shake it, and when it stops popping, it will be perfect)
Drying racks work well on semi-dry bud, but on really fresh bud, the bud compacts and flattens out. After the bud is almost dry after hanging, then I cut the bud from the branches and finish the dry on a rack before jarring.
That's what I do
