Unknown strain just started flowering in Rhode Island?

Hey! I'm new to growing and a medical patient in Rhode Island. I was given seeds by a local long time grower but he told me he was unsure of the exact strain of te seeds. Due to being laid of and other issues I did not have the money to set up an indoor grow so I decided to try growing a few outside.

I started the plants outside in mid may and moved them to 7.5 gallon plastic pots in the beggining of June. I thought that these pots would be their final destination. The plants were fine and very healthy until I returned from a 4 day vacation in the beggining of July in which the plants started to show signs of a problem. The leaves were browning along the middle veins then brown spots would spread throughout until the leave was dead. This was mostly all on older fan leaves. I eventually figured it must be a mag deficncy and trusted with a cal mag product.

During this time I lost a few plants to a ground hog and a lot of leaves from the deficiency. I decided I need to transplant the remain 4 plants into 10 gallon smart pots on July 27th and the plants took a few days to get back on track. Due to not knowing the exact strain I have had to kind of guess as to what these plants like and don't like a lot! They look like mostly indica although a couple have a purple hue and slightly different look.

My question is shouldn't a mostly indica strain have started to flower earlier than mid August here? It seems like other people's plants in the area are further along flowering. I have gone though a lot to end up with what I have now and I'm affraid my plant won't finish before frost. I'm just a bit concerned the deficiency or maybe something else delayed flowering.

It's too late to do anything about it now. But yes, stress during veg, transplant shock and nute deficiencies can retard flowering somewhat. Also some strains flower a bit later than others. But usually within a week, or so, of each other. Your plants should have shown some sign (little pistils) a few weeks ago. If you can see visible flowering now, yer good ta go! Again, can't do much now but sit back and see these babies through to harvest. And pray for a late first frost :weed:

Good luck with your grow!
