University Halls of Residence **Wardrobe Hydroponics**

Long time lurker... first time poster

So im in my first year of university, and wanting to use my hydroponic equipment to grow in my room. So I came up with these plans for the massive wardrobe in my room.



The wardrobe is about 2.5 ft deep, the main compartment is about 5 ft high, and the upper compartment is around 3 ft high (bigger than in the plan... oops)

My plan was to grow 4 Crimea Blue plants, then take cuttings from them and clone for flowering plants.

Thoughts and feedback? Possible ventilation ideas?

Dont be like that mdave... honestly if you are in a dorm room i wouldnt grow unless it is completely stealthy and you have a good carbon filter. just remember what your getting yourself into if the dorm managers do a random inspection and they look in a closet and see a wardobe in there then there rises suspicions. honestly if i had a wardobe then i would leave it in the open but have it completely stealth meaning no light escaping what so ever, no smells, and no noise or atleast very little noise. I am planning on doing a cabinet grow myself and am interested how this will turn out for you if you decide to do it.

Well the dorm managers are pretty lax here, as its a massive complex. They also cant check your room randomly and give 24hrs notice before a scheduled inspection, when I can transport everything to my friends dorm. It might sound awkward, but it would only be twice over the coming year max.

Not worth the risk. Your going to tell some one, then they are going to tell and before you know it the whole dorm is talking/wanting to look at your set up. then BAM you busted and fucked. Wait tell you get out of dorms.

Even if you say your not goin to tell anyone, You will.

don't do it, You are risking your freedom and will get kicked out of college on top of that

What about a small 1-2 plant CFL grow, in the top compartment.

2 fems grown from seeds to harvest, without bothering with cloning etc? It'd just mean buying new seeds everytime i wanted to grow, and watering myself.

honestly man i have to agree with everyone growing is one thing, but growing in a dorm with a lot of different people will end in tragedy. personally i would save to rent out or buy a nice house.

absolutely not worth the risk... you have to be fuckin insane to start a grow in a dorm, and you wanna pull off a perpetual??

there was a story the other day about a guy who got caught in a dorm with a grow, under the bed.... no 24 hour notice necessary if the cops show up and tell the dorm managers that someone might be growing pot...

most you can pull off is a PC grow... a single plant, in a PC, 1 65w CFL.....with a screen/LST, 1week veg then straight to 12/12... using a carbon filter, ona gel, gladeplugins, fabreeze n shit........

even then you're risking it.....

ye if you have a roommate he would get busted too.

so....

lets say you just recieved notification that in twenty four hours (starting now) your room is being inspected. you seriously believe that you have time to move eight clones in varying stages of vegetative growth (anywhere from a cutting to a month of veg), two mothers and four flowering plants? not to mention the equipment, which in your case is everything in the wardrobe and hell, even the wardrobe. this seems doubtful.... i just have this mental image of you walking down your hall with a mother covered in a trash bag or something.... hahahaha

this size operation is not one that one would normally consider "stealth"

are you just not going to have any people in your dorm room? ever? highly unlikely.

also... what happens when there is a fire drill? i'm sure that there are fire evacuation plans that need to be practiced, especially if you are living in a university residence hall. in my experience, the hall managers are legally obligated to open and check each room during the fire drill to ensure that no students remain in the building. this is a very conveniant time for them to look around your room or catch you off guard.

i think that things go wrong when people mistakenly believe that they are in control of a situation that they don't completely understand. face it, you aren't in control of your living situation at this time. of course you wanna grow, who doesn't? growing illegally is a calculated risk. not only does this calculated risk have many many variables, but these variables interact and relate in unforeseen ways. i guess what i'm trying to say is this: make a responsible, logical decision and not one that is based on "well i have the space and the equipment"

I cant wait a year... looks like ill go for a single plant option with a cfl or 2. Ive got all this hydro equipment sitting at home, but nothing to use it with

like redivider said a pc case would be possible but still sketchy, if you did it i would put it in your closet and grow autoflowers (so you can turn of the lights for a couple of hours and it wont mess up flowering if they check your room) there are some threads on this site about makin pcs and they sell some some (overpriced in my opinion, but super stealth) you are really gonna have to keep your lips sealed too that would spread fast in a dorm. if you have a sketch roommate definitely dont try it. if you think you can do it go for it but if you get caught you will probably get kicked out of school.

as i see it you have 3 options.

1 sell you hydro shit and buy better bud
2 pc case grow and keep it fucking secret. Guard it with your life and get a damn good carbon filter and ona gel.
3 make a stoner friend who will let you grow at their place.

and I guess there is a 4th option , fucking wait until you have your own place, I know it sucks but its the smartest option.

I was just in a residence 2 years ago (in canada) and the people can check inside your rooms but cant look through your shit. That said could you manage not to tell anyone? Or give reason for people to suspect you? Carbon filters if they are vented into a room with little air movement do emit a stange smell (i cant describe it but mine does) its not strong but its still there. ALSO my residence had low amperage plugs (i think 5 amps a 15amp can do 1800w so a 1/3 of that.). So running all those HIDs, pumps, FANS and then your personal stuff could overload the 1 or 2 plugs you have (most likely on the same circuit unless its a brand new dorm then ignore what im saying).

so... I dont think getting caught is your main worry. Its if you have enough power to have such an intesne grow and still live in the same room.

you have no privacy in the dorms, when I lived in the dorms and there were fire drills the cops had to check each room.
The RA can come into the rooms at any time. i had a fire inspector randomly come into my room once to check for safety hazards.
Just think about it for a minute, the risks far outweigh the benefits.
This isn't a game this is real life buddy...

Better bud... where I am its just bud, at 20 quid an 1/8 (2.5g) No dealer knows what it is or where it came from.

When I say dorm I mean I have my own bedroom, but share a kitchen area and shower/toilet with another 9 ppl. As for the fire fighters, id assume they'd just open your door, look in and then leave.... I doubt they would look for you in your wardrobe lol.

So a small scale stealth build is my best option, so im thinking an extension strip with 4-5 CFL's in it, hidden in a box in my wardrobe. Single plant, with basic ventilation and a carbon filter or odor killer in the wardrobe.

Anyone know where I can get those straight to outlet light sockets? and the screw fitting Y splitters in England? Like this



I cant for the life of me find them anywhere in the UK. And thanks for the advice everyone, probably saved me 10 years in prison.
