unhappy jock horror - +rep for help

so i have a very unhappy small jock horror, which isn't making me very happy

1st thing with this plant, it was a very slow sprouter, good 2 weeks to sprout
but looked ok after it came up, though kind of light green, and a few other quirks

been growing a total of 39 days
been under a single 27 watt 5500k cfl, but it's 2 inches from the bulb
the bulb is still bigger than the plant, so i think the light is good for the moment
my soil mix is MG Organic garden with 1 tbsp MG bone meal and 1 tbsp dolomite per gallon soil
i used the same soil mix with great results on a nl#5

so the pic shows a pale jock horror in the foreground, some yellow is showing
the other plant is a nl#5 clone that i was going to toss, but shows color comparison
clone had other issues, but may be recovering, not concerned about clone, got others

sure looks like lack of nitrogen, but the bone meal is 6-9-0, it has planty of nitrogen
it was my primary source of nitrogen in my last grow
so i've fed the jock with a good molasses/alfalfa tea about 2 days ago, but no help
the ph of the outflow is around 6, i was ok with that, last grow had that ph
so fed again today with the tea but with 1 tbsp of wood ash mixed in, took the ph up to 6.2 or so
maybe jock doesn't like lower ph? it's my best guess, +rep for help of course

39 days? dont blame you for being unhappy, iv never used cfls but i would of thought it is ok for that seedling. it looks pretty lifeless, that MG is dodgy stuff plagon batmix or lightmix is better. maybe start again with new seed. in my experience late bloomers always grow slow and yield fuckall. peace and good luck

That MG organic is pretty lousy soil, also you should really mix some perlite into it when using it. do you have a fan? also a bit more potash would probably help a bit. its probably not a lack of nute problem though.

some nutes become unavalable at incorrect PH keep it between 6.5 and 7.0 for optimum uptake although thats not the prob here, maybe its a shit seed and shit soil combo. how often do you water? that MG soil releases nutes with every watering, not good for a seedling.

MG Organic Garden is a bark/poultry litter compost, it's actually not that bad a soil - it is on the acidic side so mixed in dolomite
no time release stuff in there
benn watering every 2/3 days - i've let get pretty dry to make sure it didn't get too wet
+rep for the thoughts

MG Organic doesn't get too much respect here, and it's certainly not the rolls royce of soil
it's basically a fair wood waste compost, it's the acidity that many have complained about
i did mix in %15 perlite when i mixed the soil, forgot to mention that in original post
there is a fan, temps don't seem to get above 75 f.
+rep for helping out

If you're going organic try some blood meal. It has more N in it. Also try some superthrive or something. That may help to perk it up.

thanks for the rep, the shit seed is what i'm afraid of
been reading all the jock grow logs that i can find
i saw one that looks to have the same pheno i'm seeing
his seemed to grow well, was a slow grower too
hard to pull the plug, hoping there's a good plant buried inside that runt

Don't give up on it yet. Try a little superthrive on it.

blood meal is definitely a thought, it is fast(for better or worse)
superthrive? - so far i've brewed all my nutes, but i can change if it comes to saving a plant
is this a hydro store product, or maybe find at a nursery store?
+rep, superthrive sounds like it has good things

I'm told wal-mart carries it now but you should be able to find it at any gardening center or hydro shop.

organic grower myself, looked over the superthrive, vitamins and some other boosters?
alfalfa tea(beloved by many organic growers) actually has those vitamins
which brings me back to the plant, seems to be doing better as of today, looking greener
my last adjustment was bringing up the ph which seems to have made a difference
i have found some jock horror grows where you have slow growing phenos, think my issue has been a combination of a naturally slow growing plant and a PH it didn't much like

I agree with others in that you have a PH problem that is locking nutes away from your plants. I used to grow organic, but once I switched to Technaflora products I will never go back. Just not worth all the time/investment when you can almost double your yeild and reduce overall grow time. After every feeding the plants grow at least 1/2 inch overnight. Maybe it's time to try something new?

39 days, somethings not right here... ive had nute burn, ph and drainage problems and its never stunted growth that much.

The one on the right looks near death, not sure on the advantages of growing ethically on such a small scale, look at it this way, if you grow nothing cuz you havent given the plants the right nutes you buy weed from a dealer, doubt he gets it from an organic source, you use fule to go get it and you put yourself at risk. Also your using electricity which in most cases comes from a hi carbon process so if you dont harvest anything you have effectivly wasted carbon, put it in perspective, buy some decent nutes and stop punishing yourself.
