Underage growing advice

Hey guys,

looking for some advice for my friend

He's under 18 and living with his parents and is looking to start growing in his room.

His parents don't know the 1st thing about marijuana. What it smells like, looks like, nothing. He also lives in a rental so landlord is there from time to time, who he assumes doesn't know anything either.

What are some tips that you guys got? What plant can he say is growing when asked (maybe a marijuana look-alike?). Also what would be the best strain preferably something short, not very strong smell?

Your friend should understand that this a TERRIBLE idea and should not move beyond day dreaming about it. This is the kinda stuff that makes responsible people young and old face palm. If you could afford to set up a grow that wouldn't be noticed by your parents (good luck) or your landlord you should be able to move out and get your own place.

he can afford to set it up but due to age limitations he cant move out.

His mom already allows him to grow plants although he hasnt yet. he made up some bullshit about school.

so with that out of the way you have any advice?

I would advice against it. I tried it when I was 16. Trust me, its not going to work.

its just a dumbass idea all together....if he gets cought his parents are gonna have to deal with it legaly..not him. Plus its just a dumbass idea all together...try when your an adult and it will be alot less dumbass

if you..being underage as i would guess...and your friend being underage...this isnt the best place to be asking this.this site is about bettering the marijuana community..not helping kids hide felonies from mommy and daddy.maybe try doing a google search and seeing the other 5,000 threads of kids asking about how to grow in mommys house

Just sayin, maybe everyone should get their legal troubles in before the age of majority comes along and we'd all be better off.

a felony is a felony despite the age of the person committing it.. you've never heard of a minor being tried as an adult??? shit happens all of the time in the us..

Just do what every kid did and find a bare spot in the woods or a cornfield. Dont be a retard and think your landlord wont know what plant your growing in THEIR house... how can you babysit plants when you yourself need to be babysat?

i personally dont think you should go through with it...marijuana smells. period...no matter how naive you think his/your parents are im sure they know what MJ smells like..even if they dont wait till a friend drops by a goes, "damn dude it reaks like mj in here" (or whatever).

i cant imagine two parents being so square that they wouldnt know its an mj plant...i mean it may be possible but this is 2011...

so he's going to have to hide it...theres no way (in my opinion) that he could hide a grow in his house...unless he has an attic or something that no one ever goes in but even so it would be hard getting in and out of the attic with no one noticing so he can water his plant(s) etc.

in my opinion the best chance he has at an INDOOR grow is by doing a low-smell autoflower strain with cfls in the attic (or crawl space for some of us).

thats about as good as he could hope for but if the attic/crawl space is frequented a lot (or even sparingly) then its not going to work out.

he'd have better luck in the woods or an isolated area in which people dont travel near his home.


i still advise against growing underage in your parents house...just doesnt seem right. hell when i was 16 i was paranoid just having my mj in the house (in fear they'd find it/smell it) much less try to actually GROW some mj...id rethink the indoor grow idea...best to grow outdoors off the property. too much risk for the smallest gain imaginable (2-3 months of growing for maybe an oz max).

As far as growing goes, it's difficult and stressful enough as is keeping it stealthy enough to hide from the authorities let alone the people who LIVE in that house. Doing a first grow in your parents house isn't really the way to go about things. I'm not barking at him, calling him an idiot, but really...

It's March, almost April Pop them suckers outdoors in the woods! It's the perfect time to start in many places, and it doesn't put anyone in danger of getting in trouble, especially those who aren't even aware that multiple felonies are being commited in their own house, hah. Besides, I think you'll see more weight from months under the natural sun than you would under a few CFLs

First I wanna say thanks to all contributors

and 2nd I forgot to mention the only person he lives with is his mom, and he has the entire basement to himself. Not just a room. He's got his own living room, full bathroom, like 2 walk in closets and then his bedroom which he has a lock and key to which he put in himself. so he has reaaall privacy. I wasn't asking for advice on wether he should do it or not. just some ways of limiting smells and the ideal strains

Why? I did it when I was 16, turned out ok. I strongly advise the kid not to do it for various reasons, most of which center on jailtime or getting kicked out of the house (been there). Just wait until you have your own place man.

Try The "Meth Plant",,,work's wonder's in under age growing sphere's.

if this is indeed the case then he could possibly get away with a small grow. it would NEVER be a good idea to just have his grow set up in a room though...i mean EVENTUALLY they'll come down there...not smart.

best idea is to use a stealth cab...buy or build your own.

lock it up with a lock and if they ask he can say thats where he keeps his valuables...like money he's earned from work or whatever the case may be...

as far as smell goes if you're using a cab and growing with a few cfls or a small hid light then something like ona gel in the room (not inside the cab) will kill off the smell pretty much completely...besides a handful of small plants in a cab dont emit much smell OUTSIDE of the cab so long as its sealed properly...he could put it infront of a window and easily vent out the window...if his parents come in his area of the house he can simply hide it behind the cab


just saying...not saying its a good idea but thats a decently safe way of going about it.

its going to stink something aweful though during harvest time as the buds need to dry by hanging right after the chop.

Most people on here are not going to support a minor growing without the permission of the owner of the residence. Like they said you can lose your house and be convicted even if the parents didnt know.

That being said i would say smell is going to kill you. One plant will stink, more than one will reek. So you need to be able to conceal it and be able to handle the smell very well. And be prepared to be caught there is a greater chance you will get caught than not. Check out the DIY smell control and check out the stealth cab grows they have plenty of good tips that can help you not get caught but if you can wait/grow outside where its not sketchy i would suggest that.

Idgaf Build a pc grow box ( google ) grow your 1 plant and be 16 or whaever u r .nothin big will come if it besides possibly getting kicked out
