I add a dab of it (1/8th tsp) or a pinch of sugar (1/16th tsp) per gallon to almost every feeding. It feeds the soil microbes. Using it at the end of flower to improve taste seems like an urban legend. It's probably people reducing their nutes. Then, adding sugar stimulates the microbes which begin breaking down the remaining salts in the soil.

You can use too much and create a hypertonic condition. See this thread.

Good to know definitely wont put a whole tbs in a gallon then Just trying to get as much out of it as I can without paying any more money. Got overdrive and molasses hoping this will help me get a great taste, weight, and finish to them :) does it actually make it taste better???

I use it at 1 tbs per gallon, but only about 2 or three times through flowering, mostly at the end. Some argue it does nothing and others say it's great. I've never done a side by side test so I couldn't confirm either way. Hasn't hurt anything that I can tell

teasponn a gallon is fine. TBS ill make the plants finish early.

the flavor comes from SUlfur increasing terpenes. Unsulphured molasses just means excess sulfur wasnt added. still contains sulfur. carbs increase yield supposedly too

What nutrients do you use? If they're synthetic, you might try using more organic sources/components. I used GH Flora 3-part, then switched to Grow More Sea Grow which is a blend of organic/synthetic. I supplement with AK Fish in veg, some AK Kelp late in flower. Bat guano for P "booster" in late flower.

When I switched (not even supplementing with the other stuff) myself and friends noticed a definite taste difference. Smooth, rich (not the sharp, bright taste which, to me, is harsh). If you ever change, let me know and I can tell you how I use it. It can be tricky getting the amounts right. It doesn't burn when you overfeed, it just builds up salt and you get an unpleasant surprise in early flower. It's inexpensive, about $1 per plant per grow.

Eh probably next time ill go with something like from advanced nutrients like flawless finish or something like that but for right now Im trying to keep it cheap and I have un sulfered molasses and the overdrive already so just gonna use that this time. but the nutrients Im using right now are Tiger Bloom and Big bloom, and overdrive. was using grow big but been going down off nutrients slowly so its almost gonna be getting just water and overdrive soon and probably molasses. Just was wondering if anyone knows from experience if It made it taste better and made it gain more weight??? or if they just really didnt notice a difference? and would now be a good time to start doing it?

"For organic gardeners, I recommend unsulfured cane blackstrap molasses as the best choice because it is the most nutritionally (trace elements) valuable of the various types of molasses.

I do not recommend using synthetic chemical fertilizers, but I would be remiss not to mention that molasses is also a chelating agent, which means that it can 'help' convert 'some' chemical nutrients into a form that’s 'more' easily available for organisms and plants to use.

Molasses can be an important addition to an organic fertilizing program (drench or foliar), depending on whether your garden dirt is in need of such. Most organic garden beds worked by folks who actively compost - and use their compost on their garden - do not need molasses, but then, it can be (in minor amounts) added to compost tea when used as a foliar spray directly on plants - a highly recommended practice, especially if the tea is direct leachate and not brewed tea."

Hmmm good facts thanks
