alright mate, i too am looking at getting something done this summer. ordering some swiss cheese from nirvana 2moro (payday). a mate of mine did their swiss miss a few years back but its now discontinued, so cheese it is. im still a bit worried about trying a new strain from this supplier as i did an indoor grow with their new short rider autos and the genetics didnt seem as good as i had hoped. maybe try another more repitable source?
i was worried i had left it too late 4 the uk, but seeing u only getting started is a boost4me. good luck and let hope 4 a good summer!

i decided to go with autos this year, never tried them before but gorilla spots here are limited so i thought it would be a safer bet! just gotta hope they flower now!!

theres been a few decent outdoors grows and friend and i grew a dutch passion blueberry outdoor 2 summers ago that yielded 5oz of decent bud, can defiantly be done in the uk, seen a couple on here but not many.

dunno bout gurrila grows either imo the uk is too overcrowded and some1 will always walk/find the spot you fink no1 nos theres 60 odd million people on this tiny lil island.

I grew for the first time in SE UK last season and mold DESTROYED my crop of Greenhouse Seed Company's 'The Church' which i selected because of its mold resistance. I ended up with about an ounce of nice buds and then 3gs of POTENT but (i think) mold contaminated bubble hash from the trim. All the top colas were ruined.

Consequently this year I'm going to run autos from the beginning of May through to the middle-end of August.

I have also noticed a trend in the climate over the past couple of years whereby the hottest, sunniest and driest periods have been in early summer with the end of august and september being quite humid and rainy- bad conditions during flowering.

If I run 10 automatic plants I should get about 7oz (if not more) of quality bud that has finished in the height of summer rather than the beginning of autumn..... The UK climate is just to unreliable to risk photo-dependent strains in my (albeit limited) opinion.
Perhaps another solution could be forcing normal strains to flower early? or going for strains that finish flowering quickly?

Good luck to all the UK growers...

i agree bout the summer starting n ending alot quicker recently, fucked my outdoor up last yr cause by the time it was budding the weather was shit, moving ya plants to a dark place every day for 12hrs works well but can be hassle.

Went out for a long walk today to look at possible sites. I live in wales so theres plenty of room for everyone! 3 mins walk from my house and your in the middle of nowere!
However we do have rather a large amount of sheep here, so im looking at fields that have no sheep, however the soil isnt as good. Ive only ever grown under lights before, so this is a bit new to me.
My mums a gardener and she thinks its still a bit early up here due to the slight possibility of frost.
I need to order my seeds, going to try and grow 50 plants this year, will be digging up my sites tommorow. would do it today, but the suns out, and that means a visit to my dealer! IF only he knew.....
