UK CFL bulbs........

Iv been looking all morning and im struggling to find high wattage CFL bulbs in the uk.

In the us i can fink them upto 800watt equivalent (think it was about 85w) but all i can find in the uk is upto 250w.

Anybody in the uk got ideas where i can find big CFL's? will the us based ones work in the uk?

im a hps/mh kinda guy but got a new space and wanna try sumin new

I'm in the same situation as you man although i'd be interested in where you find the 250w equivs I only have 23w =~100w bulbs myself.
Also there are absolutely no other CT's to be had in the UK other than 2700k
Aside from grow shops I only found crap cfls

not the best option but no harm in trying i guess?

i did find a setup that had 1x 2700k and 1x 6400k plus a reflector and power cable/fitting for around £50-60 i think it was iv been googling cfl bulbs all day in various ways and places lol defo time to find my rizla

you wont find no bigger than 23/25w cfl bulb for standard fittings in the uk,(think they've all been discontinued cause there not considered green enough, but i could be wrong) i went with 125w from '3counties hydrophonics' for £18 plus £20 for reflector with the g4 fitting (the beefy one)+delivery (next day!!) Grew ak's under it for 5 weeks until they out grew it but easy solved by just adding a few 23 watters round the outside

i dont mind using non standard fittings as long as theyr fairly easily to obtain and will run fine off the uk voltage?

No need to worry,no wiring required, the reflector/fitting already has a uk plug attached so all you need is timer and away you go!
