Im pretty sure it is this potting soil http://www.walmart.com/ip/Expert-Gardener-1.5-cu-ft-Potting-Soil/16351130

The thing is I grew 2 monsters with this same soil in the past 6 months and had decent yields both times ( 1.3 oz % 1.7 oz from single plants ).

This was of course during warmer months , but still.

I am getting to the same point every grow now. The plants look beautiful for 1 week, then yellowing occurs on the bottom 1st set of leaves and then spreads thru the plant , destroying it.

I use a 150w HPS and 2 42w CFLs for lights

that lame potting soil.

Temps are no issue, the box is staying around low 70s at all times , it might go into the high 60s at nite with lights off.

what can i do to this soil to make it work better if it is the issue? What the fuck was I doing properly before that i am doing diffrent now? the only thing i can think of is its winter and i no longer have high 80s low 90s temps.

Please help!! I dont have access to Fox Farms soil in my area. I have to make this brand work again or use MG.

Ok 1-2 oz plants arnt monsters bro. Now to the problem, its not the soil quality ,i think now its cooler the soil is taking too long to dry and the roots are suffering, get some fans blowing on the plants and dont water near as much as you did in summer.

if you can get some perlite and vermiculate and thin the soil out that will help alot. you will have to feed more. do you check you ph? what kind of nutes are you using?

yep it could be the water.you might have to get some enzmes and humic acid can help breakdown the toxic salts in the water. also remember to let your water sit for 24 hour b4 use.

Yeppers if its a soil issue (hard to tell w/o pics) but check irrigation and lay off of watering let soil dry then depending on how old plant is... hit with ferts. Also i would recommend that you use MH for veg.

This brand of soil is really wet right from the 1st time i open the bag. After I germinate the seeds should I just leave the soil how it is or still add water to it before i drop the bean in? I do have a fan blowing in.
