It's true. This was news several months ago IIRC. I'll see if I can find a link.

God Bless Amerika.

Here we go. Pay close attention to the clause where it states they'll take DNA of those arrested but not convicted...
washingtonpost.com
The policy will substantially expand the current practice of routinely collecting DNA samples from only those convicted of federal crimes, and it will build on a growing policy among states to collect DNA from many people who are arrested. Thirteen states do so now and turn their data over to the federal government.

Dude some elementary schools have a special event of where a police officer shows up and explains his job to the kiddos. He tells all about being a detective and comes up with a fun activity, take the kids fingerprints! Show them how neat it is.

At the end of the day, the cop takes all the fingerprints back to the station and logs them in. A few of my buddies are in the system because of that, but I didn't let them get mine!

Big brother lives. I'm way deep in the FBI files. My brother was a POW and they investigated my whole family after we got a three issue interview in "Rolling Stone" magazine in the "70"s. Plus, when you apply for a carry permit, the FBI checks you out. That's right, My brother got his picture on the cover of "Rolling Stone".

this is some bullshit.... can they really do that? how about privacy issues? there has to be a way of getting away from them getting your blood sample.

ok, well is there anything that says I have to allow them to do that? or are they getting this on volunteerism?

Why is anyone upset about this? The DNA collection is just one more step down the Road to Serfdom that was started long ago. Hey, did anyone of you complain when Congress passed the law that requires doctors to assign a social security (Taxpayer I.D.) number to your newborn child? No, you didn't complain because you wanted the perceived, promised benefit ... the child tax credit.

So, what's the difference between a DNA sample and the issuance of a federal I.D. number at birth?

Its been said before ... but here it is again: The preservation of Liberty requires diligence. Oh I see ... you thought liberty was a done deal, right? :blsmoke:

Granted, it's been a while since I had my last kid, but it's not the docs who are required to get that SS#. Parents are required, by law, OR you don't get to claim the wee one.

And, while I generally agree with your stance here, there is a HUGE difference between a number assigned from outside your body and LE getting to know you more intimately than you know yourself. There's a huge difference between having a piece of me and knowing my number.
