Natmoon, the article that Greenearth started this thread with was from today. This is todays news. Obama signed a measure on Feb 5 to end DEA raids on med states and today they went public with it.
They said it was "policy" not law and that they "promised" not would.
Let me know when its law:lol:

See your illusion is that you are familiar with UK law which is not identicle but only similiar to USA law therefore you are getting the two mixed up. If anybody gets raided then it will be all over the media because people here want to know why they disobeyed the direct orders of the president...

Also if the president says something then it is an order and if disoboyed the person can face severe punishment including being bared from office and being put in prison for not obeying a command. The president is the highest official in the USA.. he is the highest in Command. He is higher then any military personel. Whatever he says is law as he is speaking it. Anythng he says government officials must obey

I truly hope its true, but i will believe it when i see it.
I also hope its true as the UK will fall in line with American policy as it always doesbongsmilie
Actually the first article was last month and the others are dated on the 5th of this month, lol.
Also they will raid whoever they like and say that their was evidence of whatever they like.
They ignore your own president,in the words of your own norml director, and do what they like, they are a power unto themselves.
You seem to have the illusion of freedom confused with actual freedom.
Dont get me wrong i truly hope that the DEA will curl up and die but dont let the wool get pulled over your eyesbongsmilie

Well hell, no wonder he doesn't get it.

Yes Nat, if Obama says stop and they don't it will make them the criminals and they'll be the ones on trial.

Ain't life grand :bigjoint:

We have people trying to put our formal President Bush on trial for war crimes... the dea wont disobey a direct order from the highest chief in the land... other wise they will be the next to be put on trial... plus if anybody is raided then they can claim that it was an illegal raid because its against the presidents orders... then the dea will be committing treason against the USA

I make it a personal mission to study marijuana laws from all over the world because of my own spiritual beliefs about marijuana.
UK law is completely different from American law,we have trade agreements over tobacco, cotton, alcohol etc.. with America and many other issues that are surrounding the facts of marijuana.

If cannabis becomes something we can trade with America without breaching our trade agreements they will legalize it here but i think that in all reality they don't want people to have marijuana for a million reasons.
Lets be honest, all though it is a step in the right direction,i shouldnt have to be ill to make a rollup without being put in prison.
You dont need a license to go and get drunk why should i need one to smoke in my own home?

Illusion and reality are very different and often hard to tell apart.
They have already openly opposed and disobeyed the president.
Their excuse was they were following the "law" as set by the Bush admin and that most of the officials in the DEA were appointed by Bush.
Anyway like i have said i truly hope that Americans some day get some real freedom and don't end up with chips under their skin and needing a license to skin one upbongsmilie

BIG DIFFERENCE... They were under the thumb (law) of the bush regime. That law will never leave untill someone changes it. And who can change it? Only a president! Obama just told them the new policy pertaining to medical marijuana. So now they are under the Obama regime instead of the bush. Plus there will be different people running the DEA

They were following the policy set by the Bush administration, not the law. There is a difference.

See here in the article, in none of the articles is it called a DEA "law" it's always refered to as a "policy"

"As the new Attorney General, one of Eric Holder's top priorities should be to end these harmful raids on state-sanctioned medical marijuana providers," said Caren Woodson, Director of Government Affairs with Americans for Safe Access (ASA), the country's largest medical marijuana advocacy organization. "And, until a new head of the DEA is confirmed, Holder has a responsibility to cease the existing policy being carried out by Bush Administration officials."

natmoon why tromp on our day in the sun, i hope you guys have the same results overthere

no reason to spread conjecture and perpetuate impossible outcomes.

if the president ordered the dea to focus on a certain drug he has the power to do this. if his subbordinate doesnt obey the president will simply fire him and replace him with an employee who will obey

so you are full of it

nat, while i agree with you on several subjects; im gonna have to disagree here... as an american, i can tell you that the attorney general making the announcement is real.... obama's word i dont trust... he's putting it to action now... i am hopeful to see some dramatic change in our nations (and thus the world's) pot laws... there hasnt been "steps in the right direction" lately, but rather leaps and bounds compared to what has been happening... the legalization efforts appear to be picking up speed... i'll smoke one to this:eyesmoke:

Yeah hopefully things will change, maybe it was one last kick at the can by the DEA, Maybe they could see the changes coming and quickly raided what they could while they could without "dis-obeying".

So many people don't seem to be able to understand that i am saying that this is just false hope, imo false hope is worse than none.
Try listening to one of your own people like Aaron Russo if you feel that you cant listen to me.
Your all nothing to them, just an ant, stoned ants are no good to them, its that simple.

You work like a dog all of your life so that they can sip champagne whilst you sip tea,so that they can drive a Ferrari whilst you take the bus.
Just a load of serfs to them is all you are.
Who really thinks they can change a seriously corrupt regime with some petitions and Arnold sweaty knickers.

Anyway i am done here, let me know when they release all the millions of people from prison.
Let me know when they no longer smash down your front door and take everything away from you including your children.
Let me know when your really free:joint:

It's not a regime change.
California very shortly will be the #1 pot spot of the world, flamboyantly!
You see, with the introduction of medical marijuana into society there have been no downside except federal prosecution.
There has been no peak in crime or accidents from cannabis junkies.
Cannabis is an estimated $14 billion industry in California alone.
Trust me, I'm knuckle deep.
That is not including Cannabis's many other applications.
Like textile!
You see the real motive here is nothing but the all mighty dollar bill $.
If you take the time to read the bill yourself, AB390
is worded in such to stress cannabis's market potential.
Obama literally just gave the O.K. .....?
How did he do that? You ask, I'm sure.
Read the bill ... otherwise worded it says that, we will only do this if the dea backs off.
Then like 48hours later you get the Attorney General up there proclaiming a halt.
Put 2 & 2 together, tell me what you get?

Not to mention America is at a third war with Mexican drug cartels.
They are killing people at our borbers.
What better way to fight them then take away their money?
