Ok first question. I see alot of pictures where people cut off the tips of the plants leaves. Why does one do this... something to do with SOG?

Second and completely not related... where can i pick up a roll of mylar? Is that something a dro shop would have.. or something pat catans would have? I am not in the position to order online.

Cutting the tips of fan leaves are cuttings that were taken and are being cloned.

Mylar can be picked up at most hydro shops or you can order online

I think you might have misunderstood my question... unless im missing something HUGE here.
If what you are saying is true then that means you can clone from a single leaf tip, which as far as i know is impossible.

Or maybe your saying that after one takes a cutting from a plant (which will be the clone), they cut the tips off of the fan leaves of the cutting. IF this is what your saying then you still havent answered my question which is why do they cut the tips off.

I can think of a couple of reasons.

1. So the base doesn't have to support the weight of heavy fan leaves
2. So the plant puts more energy into developing a root structure instead of photosynthesis.

It's # 2, Don't want too much foliage for the twig to support.
and most hydro shops will have mylar or the black/white poly tarp (90% reflective)

when taking clones often times ppl will cut the leaves in half because they are more problem until roots appear

actually you seem quite the fool to me.... did it really bother you that much and if it did why wouldn't you correct whomever instead of puting him down.... thats why he is here... to learn no need to be a flaccid penis

Well he wasnt really correcting anything.. just answering the question i asked in the first place.. which i thank him for. As for you... if you dont feel like helping someone out then fuck off. Im new to this and I couldnt find the answer anywhere and this was the one and only thing i didnt truly get.. so i asked. Im sure youve asked plenty of stupid questions (whether they pertain to weed or not). And im sure theres plenty of things I know that you dont, actually i know there is.. and if you asked me something that i thought was common sense i wouldnt treat you like an asshole. Im simply trying to build a knowledge base here, its that simple.

About the tips of plants their is some reason I read a long time ago but I can't remember. This is most likely because it was not something I was going to try.

Now for the mylar go with the 2mm not the one. The two is much stronger and you will be much more pleased with in the long run.
