Two questions about preflower.

Two questions, heres the first scenario.

My first plant was a male, to be sure i left it in the grow room for about 72hrs and watched the preflowers (balls) cluster and grow. I just removed the plant.
Am i safe from pollen considering it was only in the grow room for about 3 days after showing? just making sure.

Second scenario.

My other plant had small singular growths appearing, the begenning of preflowers... but it suffered a tragic injury and 90% of the plant had to be tossed. only a few branches remain. As a result i switched the lights back to 18/6, and after a day switched to 24/0. I had the lights on 12/12 for 1 week to determine sex.
Will switching the lights back to veg cause my plant to stop growing/maturing preflowers? now that i only have the bottom two nodes i cannot determine sex at this time. I just want to make sure my remaining plant is a female if im going to spend any more time on it.

If the pods didn't open on the plant your fine but they shouldnt have in 72 hours. If there is a white hair its female and a little nut its male. It will go back to veg but if you stressed it too much it can become a hermie once its flowered again.

When the plant suffered its injury (main stem snapped in half by animal) i took 6 clones, all 6 appear to be surviving. So at this point i really just want to know what sex the mother plant is, thus determining the sex of the clones. If the mother plant herms ill destroy it immediately. The clones should still be viable im assuming.

will the plant being put back under veg lighting delay its production of preflowers? Or will i have to wait until the plant grows new nodes to see new preflowers? i just want to figure out the sex.

also if anyone knows... when a plant is snapped at the main stem where does the new growth occur? on remaining branches, or will the main stem try to regrow vertically? In this case the plant was 24" tall, and the remaining portion of the plant is approximately 6" tall. the branches extending off the 6" main stock are almost two feet tall.

Preflowers take about 2 months of veg. by switching it to 12/12 it started flower production, by switching back to 18/6 it will take about a week for flower production halts and the plant to go back into vegetative growth. You can tie the branches down until main stem catches back up. The stem will act as if it was topped and will branch off with mutiple main stems. If you don't know the sex still, just take one of the clones and place it under a 12/12 light until your 100% sure what the sex is by then you can take more clones or whatever you want but that will be your quickest way to be sure of the sex

the stem currently has a hole in the center of it ( i am assuming it is natural) i have been keeping the center of the stem where the hole is covered with a piece of electrical tape. Should i take the tape off? will the plant be ok with that exposed injury?

alright ill untape it, for some reason i was afraid the hole in the main stem was going to allow the plant to dry out or something lol. guess im smoking too much

all the stems are hollow and i'm pretty sure mother nature doesn't use electrical tape. Calm down, smoke some and wait. mj is quite resilient and can handle a lot. keep it simple and don't worry its pretty hard to kill a weed after all
