Two Lamps vs Light Mover Question

I've got two 1000 watt hps over a 3x6 bed doing SOG.

If I get rid of one of the lamps and put the other on a light mover to cover the bed how much yield loss will I suffer?

Thanks for all the help!

one 1000 watt light without the mover will be plenty of light. you shouldn't see any drop in yield as you;re already well past the light provided by the sun for the size of your growing area with one light.

2K over a a 3' x 6' is overkill. A 1k is good for 6' x 6' so you don't even need a mover. I wouldn't even consider 2K unless the space I had was 5' x 10' minimum.

You could build a wall in the middle of the room, making two 3'x3' flowering rooms, then run a flip-flop. This lets you use two light on one ballast by alternating light cycles. Light A runs for 12 hours, then the Light B runs during A's dark cycle, then A runs on B's dark cycle, then...

I guess you could do this without dividing the room, to create kind of a ghetto light mover, but run them for six hours each, then both off for 12.

:peace:
